Description: The San Daniele restaurant in Brussels owes its name to the famous and traditional ham from San Daniele, a small village in Northeast Italy in the Friuli region between the Alps and the Adriatic. In this way the "San Daniele" Family wishes to underline the respect for the purest Italian culinary traditions that make its reputation. One son in the kitchen, one son in the cellar and the father in the dining room. This could be the simplistic picture of this transalpine establishment, nestled behind Koekelberg Cathedral. The simply elegant decor has been attractively updated, which only adds to the warm atmosphere of the restaurant, which has long held a place at the summit of Italian fine-dining. The chef uses high quality products in his dishes, which perpetuate the great Italian tradition, although French extravagancies are sometimes on the menu. Italian vintages have pride of place in the wine cellar. The Restaurant San Daniele, places at your disposal, its lounge and private dining room (to the 1st floor), adaptable to your needs. Perfect for all your private meals or business meetings. Available for 2 to 12 people., In complete tranquility. Discretion guaranteed. Information and booking by phone only

“Molto fine Italian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2012

Discreetly located on the road west out of Brussels just beyond the Basilica (whose 24/24 free car park is ideally located within 250 meters) the San Daniele is an exquisite restaurant serving delicately prepared modern Italian food. We went to celebrate birthdays and felt most welcome from the outset. We all took the evening menu of vitello tonnato, coquilles St Jacques, mushroom ravioli with truffles and monkfish. All extremely tasty and well presented. If you like desserts, do not miss the neige de noisettes du Piémont glacée, sphérification de fruits de la passion, sorbet de mandarine which bursts open sherbert-like in the mouth. Attentive and polite staff made our evening one to remember. Try the lunarae wine. Mmmm.

“Good, but not special and expensive!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2011

We wanted to try out San Daniele since a long time, and our level of expectations was quite high, knowing that it has one Michelin star. Arriving there, we were surprised by the small size of the room. We missed some privacy because you could follow the conversation of all the tables around. The welcome was warm and professional. The food was of good quality and taste but not amazing in any way. With a starter at 35$ and a main-course at 50$ we have seen more elaborated plates in other restaurants of this price range. We paid 340$ for a 3 course dinner, aperitif, one bottle of wine (95$), a digestif and coffee. We felt we just paid 150$ to much for the experience we had.
