“the best place for frites in Bruxelles”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

This is the best place to try original Brussels frites. Portions are huge, and you can try your fries with a lot of sauces (I suggest you some spicey like samurai or pili pili sauce)... there is always a long queue, but it's worth it!! and when you have your frites, you can go to Park Leopold and eat them sitting in the grass, watching the lake and the swans.

“The best fritterie in Brussels?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

In Belgium they take their chips seriously. Often 3 times cooked, crisp outers, soft inners. Oh yes! And of all the fritteries in Brussels this has got to be up there with the best. Not the happiest servers in the world, but hey, when you're only confronting them to guiltily order you frittes, with one of a wide range of accompanying sauces (from mayo to ketchup to strange concoctions I've never heard of). Then go and eat your chips at one of the nearby bars - it's encouraged as long as you order a drink. What better is there in life? Enjoy.

“Exactly what it says it will be”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

The queues tell you all you need to know: a local institution, great frites, great brochettes, and the adjoining bars are fine with you eating Antoine's food at their tables, if you order a drink. Totally without pretensions, and all the better for it. Fair, honest, and goid value.

“The real deal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

Excellent crust outside, fluffy inside. Lots of choice of sauces... I liked the Americaine and the chili one, I can't remember the name.
The line can be long, but if you go off peak time, you get served pretty quick. Nice that you can sit at the pubs nearby with your chips and have a beer or coffee or whatever.
The other fried items are good too... like the sausage sandwich.

“At last...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

Very good experience at the friterie Antoine. Nice cut, nicely deep-fried at a correct temperature with the correct fat.
FINALLY...
Congratulations to the gals and guys of La Maison Antoine.

Allow me some ranting about most of the fry-shops.

I'm in sad remembrance of all those "frit-koten" that used serving the stuff just like it had to be. What's the problem these days with those places?
Are they manned with people only there to earn a fast buck and are too shy for working a bit?
As a (former) citizen of the region I truly am very much ashamed about the daily encountered quality of a simple thing like a BELGIAN fry...
Seems to be some kind of rocket science for most friteries today.
(By the way: we had better fries a few days later in :... ISTANBUL !!!)
