We went to the Brussels for a long weekend and stayed at the Radisson nearby. Having read the TA reviews, we wanted to try Il Pasticcio. Unfortunately, the hotel had called for same-day reservations for a Friday night at 7pm, but they were booked.
We decided to walk by the restaurant anyway around 6:45 and asked if there was any chance of squeezing us in. The owner smiled and said that he could, but only if we could be done in 1-1.5 hours. That was no problem, as we have young kids and don't have the luxury of long evenings in a restaurant.
Without too much detail, the service was fantastic - warm, smiling and very efficient. Food was incredible - my wife asked for a custom penne with olive oil, cherry tomatoes and basil and it was made happily and perfectly. I had a special of three different types of pasta - spicy sausage ravioli, truffle pappardelle and tagliatelle porcini. All were incredible. The kids had penne bolognese, which was good but not as good as the other entrees.
For dessert, we had mixed sorbet and brownie w/whipped cream and ice cream. The brownie was unbelievable - my wife described as the perfect desert.
We had a 1/2 liter of red house wine which was fine anda large bottle of water. All of this for around 70 euros.
We would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant - one of our favorites in Europe.
