“Excellent accommodation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

A delightful B and B walking distance (about 10 minutes) from the Grand Place and readily accessible to most of the other attractions in Brussels (if you can fathom their bus/metro/tram route maps!).

This was a really great place to stay in a primarily residential area of 1800s houses - we were made very welcome and even if our room on the top floor (no lift) seemed a long way up at the end of the day, it was a spacious room with a top class bathroom.

Our host, Brendan, was welcoming and very helpful throughout our stay and was very interesting to talk to. We had to deter him from carrying our heavy bags from the top floor when we left, it would have been unfair! We had an excellent breakfast each day, with a range of continental options, and others if you asked - and plenty of tea/coffee/fresh pressed orange juice.

The whole house (from the 1820s) was beautifully restored and a little gem of peace and (generally) quiet - we would have no hesitation in recommending this to prospective B and B guests in Brussels, it really is a splendid and restful place. We were told we could use the front room and the grand piano if the owners were in the house - the room is really magnificent - and breakfast is served in a room with a beautiful art nouveau leaded light window, added when the house was extended in the 1920s, on the end wall.

Only one downside, which is personal rather than the fault of the owners - whilst this part of Brussels is generally peaceful and quiet, our room on the top floor faced the street and we either needed the air conditioning 'on' (which makes a gentle fan noise - unavoidable) or had to open the windows which admitted the noise of traffic on the cobbled street below, (and sirens from further away), the occasional banter of conversation from passers by and the drone of aircraft, particularly in the morning. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room at the rear! But we would not fault the B and B for this - living in a quiet suburb, I am, sadly, a light sleeper.

This is a gem and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a good value stay in Brussels.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room at the rear - and there is no lift.

Delicious breakfast and friendly hosts at this quiet guest house/B&B. Situated a block from excellent restaurants, a ten minute walk from the "Grand Place" and 2 blocks from a Blondeel Chocolate store. Breakfast consisted of fresh croissants, breads, was served in a renovated 1800's kitchen, with beautiful stained glass windows. Don't miss this one!

Room Tip: Book early - limited number of rooms.

The main reason why we choose to stay in a Bed and Breakfast rather than a hotel is because we hope that staying in someone's house will be more welcoming than staying in one room in a hotel. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. With all the rave reviews on tripadvisr, and being numb 4, I would have expected it to be better.

The house is exquisitely restored and beautifully furnished with antiques, grand piano, chandeliers, hight ceilings - it really looks like a grand house but unfortunately, unwelcoming. It almost felt like a restored historic house that you could only look at from behind a rope. The ground floor comprised of a double lounge area, the one in front had the grand piano in it. The door was almost always closed. We were told that that the door would only be open if there was someone home. In other words, you were not allowed to go in there unless you were supervised. The breakfast area is next to the kitchen with the magnificently restored Art Nouveau lead-light window.

Breakfast was OK! Although we have had better in other Bed & Breakfasts.
Usually, hosts who run a Bed & Breakfast, go out of their way to try and provide you with a lavish breakfast. But in this case, it was not made clear to us as to what breakfast consisted of. Admittedly, freshly squeezed orange juice was provided. A buffet of various breads, croissants, cheese and jams and a Nespresso coffee machine. We were not sure if hot breakfast was included. It was only when we asked that we were told that we could have various forms of eggs with bacon or mushrooms if we wished. We normally enjoy having some fresh fruit and when we asked, we were directed to a bowl of fresh fruit that was sitting on the coffee table.

We had the top room on the third floor - a lot of stairs (no lift in this house ) - but probably was good for us after all those Belgian waffles and chocolates.

It is rather a shame that Maison Noble did not live up to my expectations.

It is always very disappointing to understand that our efforts to make one of our guests feeling as comfortable as possible has failed to reach our expectations. I wanted to nevertheless thank you for your lovely comments on the house and its decoration. We value your comment and are thinking about implementing a common area open to our guest 24/7 and we then hope that we will have another chance to host you to your satisfaction.

Wife and I decided to stay here for 2 nights before heading to Paris. We were greeted by Brendon and a friend of his, who helped carry our luggage (a month's worth) to our 3rd floor room. The accommodations were excellent. Our room was tastefully decorated with lots of natural light and the bathroom 5 star! We were treated to Brendon making our breakfast by request and great conversation. When we travel back to Brussels this will definitely be at the top of our list. Brendon is an amazing host and will make you feel like family in a matter of seconds. We loved our time at Maison and enjoyed our time in Brussels!

Room Tip: 2nd and 3rd floor front rooms have amazing views!

We chose Maison Noble based on reviews and information on their website. We enjoyed our 3 night visit. However, the website suggests that Brendon and Matthiew would be our hosts. Matthiew is currently working in Luxumborg and we saw Brendon for a few moments in passing at breakfast one morning. I must say that Joel, the assistant manager provided excellent company and gave us many great travel suggestions. He helped make our stay more enjoyable. Another disappointment was our room. We reserved the 3rd floor with shower. It was described as having a view of the "brussels Manhattan". The windows are at knee level and face an adjacent row house. There was no view to speak of. Each room includes use of the steamroom (which would have been nice after a day of sightseeing) but this was either not working, or not available to us. A red velvet rope restricted access.
All in all Maison Noble offers decent accommodations but for the price, I would look at other alternatives for our next visit to Brussels.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the second floor, less stairs to walk up

We stayed 3 nights at Maison Noble. The room was comfortable and well furnished with an excellent large shower in the bathroom. Better room than in many more expensive hotels. Boh Brendan and Matthias were excellent hosts and offered recommendations on what to see and where to eat and drink. The B&B is located in a quiet but central area - only a short walk to some excellent restaurants and bars, and close to shops and historic districts. There's a fantastic art deco style stained glass window in the breakfast room!

With a friendly welcome at the front door we were in the Maison Noble.
This helpful friendly attitude remained for our stay, the people running the Maison Noble are charming; as is the house. A very stylish, warm and elegant boutique B&B, this house gives the impression of staying in a designer hotel with the ambience of a warm home.
Breakfasts are served according to one's wishes; excellent fresh food.
Our room was very comfortable and we slept well.
The hoouse is a small distance away from the centre, but still well situated to explore Brussels on foot.
We would definitely stay here again; it is a gem.
