We found the website of Chez Dominique by choice. It is Station nearby, just 2 minutes walk from station with friendly details by host that will not get lost. Also close to Grand Place that around 5 minutes walk. Homemade breakfast and boutique hotel atmosphere.

We were 2 Aussie Couples finishing 6 weeks travelling with 5 days in Brussels & the welcome to a 'home away from home' (notably without the housework & washing up) was just the antidote to soul-less hotels. Dominique & Armel were charming without being at all intrusive - as it is we who were in their home. So close to the rail station, Grand Place and many restaurants and attractions. Dominique presented the most amazing home made breakfasts each morning in a sunny room with Armel giving us a taste of his home-made beers one evening. A great place to stay, relax, stroll out in evenings to nearby restaurants & entertainments. We booked a bus tour one day & the pick up was just around the corner, so this is a perfect location for most activities in Brussels. It was handy to have local recommendations on how to travel by train to other towns (Bruges is highly recommended for an easy day trip); & they can even help with a personal driver who took us out into the country for a drive through the Ardennes.

We stayed from 2 to6 september 2013 at Chez Dominique. Our goal was visiting the museums and other sights at Brussels
Whem we arrived we were welcomed with a home-made beer and the host provided us with a map with sights, restaurants and special Brussels cafés: very good insiders tips ! We went to a couple of these restaurants and they were absolutely OK.
The room is (we were in the Mountain room) very clean and the bathroom very well equipped. Furniture is very tastfull (antiques) No radio or TV but, as we were out all day, we did not miss them. We enjoyed the coffemaker with every day a new supply of coffee and tea. Of course there is free WiFi.
Though the room is not small (some 20 sq. meter) we would have liked another place outside the room to sit and read, and drink a glass.
Location is super: some minutes walk from the Great Market and very close to the Central Station. But this location is at the same time a disadvantage: there is a lot of noise on the street the whole night. But that is "big city"...
Breakfast is super, fresh, tasty, biologic, abundant. Homemade yoghurts.

And very friendly and helpful hosts who know their city very well and have very good inside tips for their guests. A small problem for dutch guests: as Dominique and Almel are of French origin they do not speak Dutch.
So: overall recommended !

thanks for these good words, yes it's the best place in the heart of Brussels and no there are no noise when you close the window because the method of closing is very noiseproof with triple glass.
we think it deserves a 5 and not a 4... we have to explain to our guests that 4 is giving us a serious disadvantage in the TripAdvisor ranking.
but don't worry, your pleasure is our pleasure, kind regards, Dominique

We booked our stay at Chez Dominique during our 2 week vacation to Europe. Family of ours previously stayed here and raved about how wonderful their stay was. Chez Dominique sits about 2 blocks away from the Grand Place and only a few steps away from great restaurants and breweries in the city. Armel gave us directions and advice of some of his favorite breweries and beers to try. He and his wife were so pleasant to be around. Breakfast every morning was DELICIOUS- croissants, meats, eggs, fruit, and black coffee...mmm! A great way to start our days in Brussels. For a comfortable, welcoming place to stay in Brussels, I give this my highest recommendation.

Room Tip: Both rooms are wonderful, comfortable, and clean

Our three night stay at Chez Dominique was perfect! We loved the Montagne room and were very comfortable there. Armel was great, giving us advice on things to do in the area, maps, brochures, anything we needed. This resulted in a very personalized experience that you just don't find in hotels. In the evenings, we enjoyed all of the restaurants our hosts recommended as well as conversation and their homemade beer sampling upon our return. Dominique laid out a lovely breakfast for us each morning and was such a sweet presence. We hope to return to Brussels someday and will certainly stay no where else! Many thanks to them for such perfect hospitality!

My husband and I stayed at Chez Dominique for several days in June on our way to two weeks in France - my apologies for such a late review. We stayed in the room Imperatrice and found it to be perfect! It overlooked a beautiful garden - had wonderful beds/linens, and was extremely charming in its decor. The shower and facilities were spotless and beautifully done as well. I see that one reviewer was concerned with "noise", not having a TV, and not having a place to sit.....we stayed in the same room and had no difficulty sleeping, found no need for TV as all of Brussels was at our doorstep to enjoy, and felt very welcome to sit on the balcony or in the living area if we so chose.

There was a mix-up on which day we would be arriving so we presented as a "surprise" to Armel and Dominque...Armel quickly had us in another accommodation within minutes, certainly not as wonderful as Chez Dominque but perfectly fine for two weary travellers who just basically needed to catch up on sleep from the trip in from Philadelphia.

Chez Dominque has to be the best-placed location in all of Brussels - a 4-minute walk to the train station (2nd stop from airport), a 2-minute walk from a great little square/park surrounded by restaurants/shops, and a 5-minute walk from the Grand Place and the rest of "old city". Our breakfasts were wonderful fresh every day as well. And to top it all off - Armel drove us to the train station from which we were to leave and stayed to make sure we knew which train to board. Above and beyond!

We are hoping to return to Brussels again - partly because it is such an interesting and beautiful city - and partly because Chez Dominque is such a great place to start/end a vacation.

Room Tip: Both rooms would be wonderful.

We were there for 4 nights in the Imperatus. Room. We probably didn't get off to a great start as no one was home when we arrived.very scary , we waited for quite awhile, no answer, went to a store to ask about phoning, that didnt work.eventually other guests came and would let us in when the owners arrived.
Armel was handy with maps and books
The location is minutes from the square , that is ideal the downside to that is the noise.
There is no tv or phone or place that you are invited to sit other than your room.would like to be able to get cold water in the evening but no one around.
Breakfast standard fare, fresh bread and croissants, good coffee and hot milk.very clean facility .

Sorry for waiting but it’s the first time we have this kind of incident on a Sunday, because these guests were foreseen to arrive at 6PM, and they arrive earlier, we were downtown and came back at 5.45. Our other charming guests were here at same time and we shared a beer. Hope you give 5 next time, as you said it's charming and so clean.
