“Go here if you meet someone who matters”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2012

I go to this place quite offten with our VIP guests for both lunches or dinners. In my point of view it is the only place in Schuman area where the hight quality service is guaranteed (or at least in 99 % of cases). There are many places with good food in Brussels but the service is either poor or variable in most of them. Barbanera has also a very classy interior and nice garden (renovated in this spring). The food is excellent, but can be a bit heavy. Follow a reccommendation of a waiter and taste daily speciality. I highly reccomend MOZZARELLA BURRATA - ask for it as a starter and pray for them to have it (it is never on the menu and not always at disposal - you have to request it). The place is known for truffels and they know how to work with them. Just try to taste the simple food - like tagliatelle with truffels - and count on a quite reasonable portion of both truffels and butter sauce (not very good if you are on diet) :-)
I can also reccommend to taste the fish baked in sea salt.
Desserts - they have a tendention to cover any kind of cake with fruit salad nad yellow sauce. I always order desserts without any sauce or fruit, the genuin taste is the best. Reservation reccomended.

“Almost perfect italian resto”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

Have been there several times as it has been so good classical italian. Atmosphere is nice and service is good (and they speak even some english). The only problem there is a bit high price. But still I feel good price quality relation!

“A feast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2012

Like others I've been there meeting a Brussels Commissioner. The menu was fixed. Ravioli filled with perfumed goats cheese and covered in cepes for starter, the size of a normal main course. The main course itself was, incredibly, 4 fillets of fried Mediterranean seafood including red snapper, swordfish, squid and another fillet of white fish I couldn't identify. It was served with a simple side salad and steamed potatoes. Tri-color semi-fredo with liquered cherries to finish. The food was outstanding, and ludicrously plentiful. I was one of the few there able to finish it! Probably pricey a la carte and paying yourself but for food like that you needn't eat for the rest of the day!
