“Made for comic enthusiasts”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

I found the building quite beautiful, done in Horta's Art Nouveau style. But the exhibits were focused on 1950s comics, many of which I had never read. So the interest factor for me was a bit less. I had a good laugh in the Smurf exhibit, but for me the highlight were the large posters of comic art depicting the interior of the museum, which in itself is pretty remarkable.

“too little, too small”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

what impressed us were just figures at the lobby of the museum. The museum was renovating or something so we couldn't see much. Also, there isn't much English explaination so we had to just walk around and understood nothing.

“Not very interesting...even to a comic enthusiast”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

My husband and I are American comic enthusiasts but were familiar with Tintin and the Smurfs. Reading the brief history of comics in general and seeing the history behind the Smurfs was the only interesting part though. It seems most suited for middle-aged Europeans...even the local children weren't very interested and ran around the exhibits playing tag with each other. There was a comic book store on the Sablon square (Place du Sablon?) that was a lot more interesting (and free).

“Nice but a little boring”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013 via mobile

Generally speaking, this is a nice museum, covering all related to Belgian comix. However it is a little boring, for tourists and especially for their kids, who know only very few of the demonstrated characters. The souvenir shop is a bit expensive.

“A must do in Brussels”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

If you are a fan of comic strips, including Tintin and the likes, then this museum is a must… Visit can extend anything from 30min to 2hours depending on your interests...
