“Great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2015

This is a great place to spend some time. You're surrounded by water, trees, grass...You can walk, bike or relax on the grass. In the week-ends, this place is even car-free so you can really be free without caring about the traffic. If you're thirstey or hungry, there are some nice "chalets" that offers food and drinks.

“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2015

Large green area on the eastern edge of Brussels, the forest is good for walking, running or biking. It is a good place for a family pick-nick as well.

“Green Forest in the Central of Brussels”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2015

If you like green place and walking in the forest, and the possibility of getting lost, try this. One of my favorite place to get lost in Brussels. This is not a park, but this is a real forest. Very big with real a lot of green trees. This is very good because it is just in the city itself. Maybe not a lot of city in the world having such big forest in it. I am proud of that forest as part of the green part of the city. You just can walk or even make jogging or cycling. All is just perfect.

The glass houses are pretty impressive so definitely worth a trip. Take a camera as there's lots to see.

“Take a walk and a bite.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2015

The Foret des Soignes (or: "Zoniënwoud", in Dutch) is one of the largest walking forests in Europe. The paths are very well indicated. Start and finish in Jesus-Eik/Notre dame au bois and when you finish don't miss to take a bite at the "Istas" restaurant, one of the most authentic Belgian restaurants I know of. Take "radijsjes met platte kaas" (radishes on fresh cheese) at lunchtime or a "steak met pepersaus" in the evening. By all means: bring the kids along, the restaurant is very kid-friendly.
