“Oasis”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

A lovely place for a quiet stop while enjoying the city and continue up hill for a nice lunch at the d'Egmont Orangerie in yet another popular local park and feel part of the city.

“Surprising!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

Have to admit this park took me by surprise. Just up the road from the Sablon area, and right across from the Notre Dame church, it looks like a small patch of greenery from a distance. However, as soon as you walk through the gate you are struck by the manicured shrubs, large fountain, and well placed sculptures. Our first reaction was to just sit on a bench and take it all in. It's like a little Garden of Eden tucked into the hustle/bustle of the city.

“lovely square in the hart of Brussels”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

Not only the park but also the square is a must-see in Brussels. The atmosphere is excellent at there are plenty of "brasseries", restaurants and bars. Great spot to buy Belgian chocolat's. The "kleine Zavel" is also the one and only place to buy quality cigars in belgium. I don't remember the name of the shop but I think it's called Davidoff. It's on one of the corners. They have a very wide range of Cuban and other cigars in all price ranges. The staff is very helpful and provides useful tips. The smell in the shop alone is worth paying them a visit.

“Beautiful little park with nice statues”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

The statues show the old crafts/metiers. The fountain and the statue of Egmond & Hoorn are an important part of our history. Nice to visit after eating some chocolat at the 'Sablon'.

“Garden Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

I travelled one day from Paris to Brussels mainly to see in person two attractions: The Jardin du Petit Sablon and the Musee Magritte. Both sites satisfy and enhance one's visit to Brussels.

The Jardin du Petit Sablon is a treasure. There is a fountain at the entrance, lovely gardens in the French style, various statues on either side of the main steps up to the top of the garden. There are benches on which to take a short break, to linger and to slow the pace of one's excursion through the city center. The sounds from the water fountain enhance the calm of the garden oasis.

I recommend a visit to the Jardin du Petit Sablon.
