If I had one bit of advice, don't let them put you on the 5th floor and especially NOT in room 501. As per whatadanimal123's review, no phone and no remote control! They obviously know that they aren't there, and have made no effort to replace these items!!
When I advised them of the omissions I was looked at as if a little silly. The receptionist advised me, "The phone is on your bedside table". I replied "No, it isn't".
The question "Are you sure you looked properly?" was not received by me very well. So I asked to move rooms if the phone and remote were not going to be forthcoming (which they are never likely to be!). When I returned the room key, asking for a free breakfast for the inconvenience, I was met with "But I gave you a new room". Needless to say my silent response was retuned with a "Maybe I can get you a drink from the bar if you like"...
There's zero view from room 501 although the décor was a nice modern monochrome - which we traded for pink chintz, but with better views on the 4th! The staff are friendly enough, but cant say I was impressed with the heavily pregnant receptionist smoking outside the main entrance!
When will hotels stop people smoking at their front doors?!! Walking through a wall of smoke is NOT a good first impression of a hotel!
The bathrooms on first appearance are clean and modern, but the open wet room shower means water gets everywhere.
We didn't bother with the hotel breakfast in the end, as at €20 each (but reduced to €15 if pre booked) it was a bit steep, and we found much better petit dejeuner in the city.
The beds were very comfortable, the air conditioning worked well and there was very little noise from the streets below.
Checking in and out is pretty easy and they are geared up for you to leave your luggage in reception if needed if you arrive prior to check in.
The hotel is very convenient for the main attractions and is very near a metro station. All in all, not too bad, although I would rather tea and coffee facilities in the room over the very expensive minibar! They do supply a bottle of water free of charge - but I like my coffee first thing!
Not the 5th floor!
