I am a very experienced diver (actually a scuba diving instructor), so I was very curious to see what it would be like to dive in a swimming pool the size of Nemo 33.
The pool has several levels. There is a large area at about 1.5m depth, which is very safe for practising skills. There is a platform at 5m depth with a Smart car parked in the middle, the insides of which have been removed, allowing divers to swim through it. There is an area at 12m depth which has a covered section with 'caves' that have large air pockets, where you can stand up and your head is out of the water. Finally there is the well that goes all the way to a depth of 33m.
The dive itself wasn't very long, as there isn't much space to swim around, as compared to a normal dive in open water. It was a lot of fun, however. It felt strange to be at a depth of 33m and to look at tiles!
The staff at Nemo 33 were very friendly and helpful. The price for the dive includes the rental of all the dive gear. The gear itself is in very good condition. You have to have your own dive computer. No wetsuit is required as the water temperature is 33 degree Celsius! A rash vest is recommended, however, to make the wearing of the BCD more comfortable. The change rooms were clean not unpleasant. The reception area had a restaurant/cafe where you can get refreshments after the dive.
In summary, I had a very nice dive experience at Nemo 33, and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in scuba diving.
