Definitely one of the more exotic discoveries in Brussels, a hands-on experience! We had a table of 8, so we ordered a number of the set menus (one vegeterian, one with meat). The food is made for sharing, everything is served on big wooden plates that go in the middle. Although you can of course also order individual dishes. You don't get an individual plate or forks, you pick the food using pancakes. I have to admit we did request plates, since picking food from 2 plates with 8 around a big table wasn't easy. It's funny they never seem to get a request like this, since they had to look around for enough plates.
The servings are quite generous, so it's wise to pace yourself. The spicy dishes are "European" spiced, but you can always ask for additional hot sauce, which is served as a sauce and spice powder, so you can blend yourself to your taste. Limited amount of desserts, I had the dates and orange, and really liked it.
Staff was very friendly, speaking French and English. Menus come in English as well. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has two entrances. We were there on a Saturday, so we were treated to jazzy live music. It's a large room, and gets noisy at max capacity, so I'm not sure if it's a destination for a romantic dinner. Do book a table in advance. When you're in for a different eating experience, and not afraid to eat with your hands, I recommend this place!
