“Maybe not the best flea market but still really nice atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

Maybe it is not the best spot to go if you're only in Brussels for a weekend, or if you expect to find awesome vintage stuff.. If you're really interested in the market itself then you should try to go very early, and maybe not Sunday as it is actually the busiest day.. But if you go there to wander around the alleys, marvel in front of weird objects/clothing or buy an random vinyl, and most importantly finish in one of the numerous typical cafés around the square, THEN you will enjoy the visit there :) That is actually how most Brusselers see it, a nice square for a lazy Sunday morning among old objects and beers...

“Brilliant and weird”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

There is something for everyone here, there's some weird and wonderful items. There's vintage baubles and threads and a whole load of tat. You can get a pair of worn in Levi's for 5 euros though so it's worth a rummage.

There are some of those sellers who try to rip you off and the typical migrant sellers who follow you and are a bit pushy, but that's normal in any market the world over. All in all we found the market a pleasant and easy morning attraction. I bought and amazing silver ring from a lady who's prices and spoken English were unbeatable.

There are lovely cafe's, the one on the corner of the main road even has free wifi for customers, but no toilet so if you need to go then don't bother.

“over rated flea market”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

I lived in Brussels for 2 years and occasionally went to this flea market. It has mostly junk. A glorified yard sale. Mostly Arab vendors. Haggling hard is a must and watch your purse or backpack. You have to get there early if you want to have any chance of finding something good. They say that the flea market is everyday but on most days no one is there. Sunday is the only day worth going. Expect to rummage through a lot of rubbish to find something...and if you don't find something on a Sunday then you are walking distance to the outdoor market near the bus/train station.

“Interesting market- lots of character”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

The market wasnt oversized- plenty of stalls all laid out in different ways- some vendors have tables to display their wares, others, just have groundsheets, or boxes you have to riffle through. Expect to haggle over the price- nothing is labelled. Items that you can expect to see- books, paintings, pictures, cutlery, crockery, ornaments, door knockers etc etc.

“Interesting!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012 via mobile

This flea market is worth a visit especially if you are looking for one shoe or a stuffed bird or animal with the stuffing bursting out! Ther are some interesting pieces but you have to look hard for them. If you tire of rummaging through the delights on offer there are a number of cafes around the square where you can relax and view your purchases.
