Just back after spending an enjoyable long weekend in Brussels staying at the Hampshire Inn. The location of the hotel was good, just a few minutes walk from the Noord Station and 5-10 minutes walk to restaraunts and a large shopping mall. The Grand Place was a little further on but was easily walkable. To get to the station and the shopping mall it meant going through a rather scruffy underpass and although I felt safe enough, it might not be ideal for some travellers. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable with friendly, helpful staff. I had a beer there one night and was surprised at how reasonable the bar prices were. I can't comment on breakfast as we ate out. Overall I liked the Hampshire Inn and Brussels was fantastic though rather expensive.

The staff are helpful and friendly.
The car parking is difficult as there is no hotel car park.
Our room was clean and tidy.
The breakfast was OK, but nothing special.
There is no restaurant in the hotel, but there are some within a 10 minute walk.

We walked to the Grande Place, to see the sights, which was about 20 minutes away.

We've just returned from a vacation in Holland and Belgium.
My husband and I stayed here for 1 night. We found a great deal of B&B rate through the hotel website.
We were happy with the room comfort and cleaningness.The staff, from check in till departure, were fantastic! many other hotels could learn from their friendliness, courtesy and willingness to help. they were a pleasure to deal with.
Breakfast was of a good standard too.
Location was pretty good: about 15 minutes walk to the old city; less than 5 minutes to North train station.
Car parking is a problem though. we were lucky to find a spot just in front of the hotel afterall.

just back after staying a few nights in hampshire hotel in brussels. room i stayed in was fine. good size, good en-suite toilet and shower. tea making facilities were really handy especially if you don't get breakfast there. i brought a few tea bags myself. also a tv in the room. while the room was fine, i was most impressed by the staff, from check in till departure, many other hotels could learn from their friendliness, courtesy and willingness to help. they were a pleasure to deal with. they let me check in early due to early flight and allowed me to leave bag there on check out day as i had late flight out. they were at all times pleasant.. the prices in the small bar are very reasonable too. dont think they do food except crisps and mars barstype of chocolate. also they only serve beer/spirits below a certain proof and therefore don't sell whisky/spirits. the hotel is located just 5mins walk from Gare Nord or Nordstation (many placenames etc are written in both french and dutch). Gare Nord is first stop on train from airport and at this time is just 2.90euro each way.
