“Very nice, very expensive, probably not worth it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

This hotel is very nice, but unless you need to be in the area it is probably not worth it. It is very very convenient to the Trone metro and the nearby bus stops which seem to service half the bus routes in Brussels. There is nothing particularly wrong with this hotel, it just seems overpriced. Drinks at the bar are expensive, and internet service is outrageous. Service is good, check in was slow. Rooms are very small.

I thnk that coming to this expensive hotel you can expect quick service. Booking the room lasted anyway quite a long time.
I asked if the hotel has free internet in the room. The answer was yes and partly it was true but only partly. It was free for one hour and after that I had to pay. Why not tell already in check in that there is no free internet or then arrange that it is really free. Normaly outside Brussels I have found it free.
I also had problems with my safety box and the repairng lasted too long. No excuse, no discount for the internet. No good.
These are small things but they either make you feel that you are well come or not well come.

We stayed here for three nights in September. To say that we absolutely loved this place is an understatement! From the moment we arrived until we left, the staff could not have been more helpful and attentive to our needs.
When the receptionist realised on check-in that we were here for our anniversary, she without hesitation upgraded us to a beautiful duplex room. We arrived quite late and when we asked her if there was anywhere nearby to eat, she rang a restaurant close to the hotel and managed to convince them to take our late order. She told them it was our anniversary and they had a glass of champagne to present to us when we got there!
It truly is a five star hotel. The hotel has a natural sesnse of sophistication. Breakfast is wonderful and we were spoiled for choice.
Overall, I recommend this hotel without hesitation.

A fantastic hotel our room was like a house with upstairs and downstairs , the staff were very helpful and more than happy to direct us to the car park below the hotel so we could park our bikes. Nice area around the hotel . We only stayed one night but excellent value , on saying that we booked about 6 weeks before and it was on a non refundable tariff . Easy to walk in to central area of Brussels . Breakfast was included and was first class but if you want to book breakfast its around £25.00 bit over the top.

Had booked a single 6 months in advance at a great rate, non-fundable. They upgraded my to a business suite that had more furniture than my house. In fact too much furniture for the size of the room. Also too many table lamps that all had such low wattage bulbs that even with them all on in the midde of the day I had trouble writing at the very nice desk. TV failed on the first day and the Internet access was extra. Why do top hotels charge when cheap hotels have it free? So the hotel looks luxurious, the room looks luxurious and it was great value at £83 for 3 nights. But if I had paid anything close to full price I would have been a bit disappointed. Location is quite good, 20 min walk to the tourist centre and close to a metro.

This is a beautiful hotel. It was the first 5 star hotel in brussels and was once a palace. Our room was lovely! Beautifully appointed. Immaculate, Clean. Staff was gracious and helpful at all times. We stayed for a week and enjoyed each day. Shame the restaurant was closed for the month of August. Location was perfect going in all directions. Royal Palace, EU, Europeon District minutes to walk. The perfect place to stay in Brussels.

Definitely 4* hotel. The rooms are very good standard, very comfy beds, large desk, TV and huge bathroom with bath tube. This hotel is in perfect location - short walk to the park, and Grand Place - quiet yet close to the town center.Very convenient for Eurostar travelers - close to underground station. The service desk is not 5 stars tho...we had to wait to be served on arrival and were sent off to wonder to find our room (nobody goes with you to show you the room, which I didn't find very welcoming for a 5* hotel). On our departure we waited about half an hour - not a soul at the reception...very strange.
The breakfast price is ridiculous - £25 per person...but you are offered a discount £19 if you book for the next morning (but still, what do they serve a wild boar for breakfast???)
Overall very nice place, but for the reasons above not 5stars.
