“Great location!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

I stayed at this hotel for two nights during the Brussels Beer Weekend in early September.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, only 2 minutes’ walk from the Bourse (which is the closest tram station if you are arriving at Gare du Midi), and about 5 minutes’ walk from the Grand Place.

We arrived at the stated check-in time of noon, and were quickly checked in. Checkout time is also noon.

As with all Ibis hotels I have stayed in (which is a lot), the room was small, but comfortable. If all you need is somewhere to sleep after enjoying Brussels’ nightlife, this is the perfect place to stay. The room had a small, flatscreen TV with an extensive selection of channels in multiple languages. The bathroom was smaller than most Ibis properties, with very little space. You would certainly struggle to dress in there, so you should consider this if you prefer not to dress in front of your travel companion. The bathroom had a hairdryer, although I found it wasn’t very powerful, so you may prefer to bring your own if this is important to you.

Wi-fi is available throughout the hotel, which was very helpful when we wanted to check maps and places of interest.

Breakfast is available at an additional change, but we decided not to bother with it. The hotel has a small bar, but we did not use this either.

The hotel has a luggage room, where you can leave items at your own risk (you ask the receptionist for the key). We did this on the day of checkout, and it saved us hauling our bags around town. If you prefer, the hotel also has secure lockers for a small charge.

There was some rennovation going on while we stayed, although this had no impact on our stay. We did not see or hear anything related to this.

I would happily stay at this property again.

It's notoriously difficult to find a decent hotel at a fair price in Brussels, but even so I can't honestly rate this Ibis as good value for money. It has the usual shabby tired look of most Ibis hotels. Small room, well equipped and reasonably comfortable. No room service, but you can order and pick up some rather horrid food from the bar if you can't face going out.
Excellent central location and a window that can be opened were the only redeeming features.
Staff efficient and polite, breakfast adequate.

This hotel is what you would expect from any Ibis. A small, functional room with a bathroom and a TV.
The staff were very good and needed to be, to deal with the constant stream of annoyed guests who had booked rooms but were never told that the hotel was under renovation.
Plastic sheeting and wood dust everywhere, with work crews trudging all over the place.
No assistance was offered with bags (maybe not part of the service) but we worsened by the fact that the elevator only went as far as the sixth floor - and our room was on the seventh.
No complaints about the staff or the room, but there are trust issues when a hotel can't or won't own up the fact that they are under construction.
As the title says. They disappointed.

Room Tip: Ensure that they have completed their remodeling before you give them your money.

Ideally placed in the City centre, this Ibis Hotel is 15-20 minutes walk from Brussels North Railway Station. The "open plan" reception is small and basic, but the reception and catering staff were very polite and helpful. The breakfast buffet (hot & cold) was well stocked and varied. Our bedroom was small with limited wardrobe space, but was modern, and clean, and equipped with air conditioning. For a short term stay in the City centre (say 5 days) I would be quite satisfied overall. Nice big flat-screen TV with 40+ channels tuned in.

The room was clean, the hotel people were nice and welcoming. The shower was not very easy to use as you can't avoid some water to go outside (so a towel goes directly on the floor). The room was very tiny (maybe because we were at the corner of the building ?). The good thing is that it was a good bed and the hotel is very close to city center (less than 10 mins by foot).

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel as part of a package whilst going to watch the Belgium Grand Prix. I initially selected the hotel on location & price.
When we arrived, they could not find the booking or details associated with it. I was about to contact the rep of the company we had booked through, when the staff discovered they had booked us for checking in a day earlier. That sorted, we found our room on the first floor. There are lifts and stairs to access, all with your door entry card, so keep it safe! Our room was basic but clean. Rather on the small side - the door could not open fully because the bed was 'in the way', for example! A double bed & 2 separate wardrobe areas were in situ along with a desk area & decent sized tv (showing a good range of channels across the European market). The bathroom was, again, on the compact side, where they have attempted to make the most of the qwerky shaped room! It almost worked bar the leaky shower doors where one would find a nice puddle on the laminate flooring. Otherwise, a functional room with a decent hot & good powered shower. Breakfast was fairly decent, though on the first morning they were running late which led to a somewhat rushed affair when trying to catch the group coach to the circuit! But, what was on offer was a nice selection of pastries & continental breakfasts. Unfortunately on the final morning when we went for breakfast & decided to go towards the end of the session, they had run out of all the pastries, so it was somewhat reduced. Appreciate it was our choice to go a little later, but equally if they offer breakfast from one time to another then I would expect for there to be an adequate supply of food items. There seemed to be another slight issue when we were checking out & I wonder if it related back to the original problem of them booking us in on the wrong date. Just to the side of reception was a small cafe area & bar. We did not use this facility so are unable to comment further.
Anyway, overall, the hotel did what we wanted. It provided us with a clean & comfy place to stay whilst we went about our travels during the days. Bit of a shame with the booking faff & equally with the co-ordination of the breakfast, seeing as they had 80 people from this hotel going to the Grand Prix with the package company. But anyway, a nice weekend was had & would recommend the ibis to those on short breaks/sight seeing/overnight stops en route - the hotel is only about 5 mins walk to the nearest metro station & restaurants/cafes, & about 10 mins taxi ride to the Eurostar terminal.

Fine address for a good night stay in Brussels. Location is very good, just near the city centre, with a lot of restaurants in the neighbourhood. Room was well equipped with small kitchen (with even a small dishwasher!). Bed was very comfortable, shower and toilet ok, looked not really clean but was sufficint. To sum up: a good place to stay.
