“Nice hotel in good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2011

My wife and I spent 2 nights at the Agenda Louise and definitely wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if ever in Brussels
Pros:

- excellent reception staff
- very spacious and clean room complete with aircon, small refrigerator, work desk, and tea and coffee making
- comfortable bed
- good size, nicely appointed bathroom with great shower
- satisfying breakfast 9included in room rate comprising, boiled eggs, bread, cheese and ham, croissants, toast and juices
- good location 10-15 mins walk to St Louise Metro and 25-30 mins to old city centre (a lovely area) and 300-400 metres to large supermarket
- No street noise in rear room. Street itself is not a busy one anyway
- good sized lift
-FREE WIFI

Cons:

- no lock on bedroom window which was easily accessible from the fire escape
- walls were a bit thin. Could hear a lot of banging of doors (inconsiderate neighbours on floor)

I was there for a week and I think I would reccomend this hotel to people who are going to stay in Brussel for a medium/long period.

The studios are fully furnished and they look like tiny apartments. There is a big difference between the two buildings as the ones at 19 rue de beckmans are a bit older (but still nice) while the other ones are brand new (I know this as we went there in a group and some of my friends where in the other building)

Breakfast is nice but the room where it is held is rather small so when there were too many guests you had to wait until they are done.

The location is ok, close to Louise metro stop and in a nice shopping area

Agenda is located on a quiet street just next Av. Luise, no problems with parking on the street but possibilities to use a garage (17 EUR). Room was reasonably sized. a bit dark but very calm. Bathroom was OK but need some upgrade.
Staff: receptionist was kind and promised us to have a breakfast from 6:45. As we arrived, a nervous lady was preparing food and she quite strictly pointed at watches and said we have to wait till 7am .......

Room Tip: no. 36 - a calm room

The room was not clean (I found a cigarette and ashes next to the bed) and this is undoubtedly a minus. Otherwise staff is helpful, the hotel is quiet and the breakfast OK although breakfast room is small.

The Hotel Agenda Louise was loud and did not have any insulation- I could hear the group from all the way down the hall. There is internet, but no sitting area in the lobby. The doors to your room must be locked from the inside with a key. There is no view from the hotel. The rooms tend to be bigger then the usual european hotel room, but there were limited outlets and a very small bathroom.

My sister and I stayed at the Hotel Agenda for a week combining a city trip with visiting friends. We chose this particular hotel for its location and value for money and were not disappointed. We had originally booked one of their apartments nearby in rue Berckmans but a week before we travelled were asked if we would move to the hotel instead and were very happy to be offered an upgrade to an executive suite on the top floor with lovely views. The room was large, well-equipped with a separate kitchen and bathroom.

Buffet breakfast was included in the room rate and served in a cosy dining room off reception - although the room was small and I understand the hotel and apartments were full, we never encountered a seating problem. Food was perfectly adequate - a cold buffet comprising fruit juice, a choice of cereals (muesli, cornflakes, weetabix), breads (brown and white rolls, croissants, currant bread, pain au chocolat), cheese, ham, boiled eggs, fruit salad, yogurt, jams and a variety of teas.

There was free wifi in the bedrooms and apartments as well as a room on the ground floor with two computers which guests could use free of charge. We found connection to be quick and reliable.

The hotel has parking facilities (if I remember correctly they charged 17 euros) but we never had a problem finding free street parking, normally in rue de Florence itself, if not in adjoining roads.

The hotel is just off Ave Louise, a short walk to Place Stephanie and is conveniently located for trams and metros. It takes approx 20 minutes to walk to the Sablon or Grand Place, slightly longer to rue Neuve/City 2 downtown shopping area. It is very near the luxury shopping area of Ave Louise/Toison d'Or. There is a good selection of restaurants within five minutes' walking distance (Belgian, Thai, Japanese, French, Italian, Lebanese . . . ). In the vicinity there is a gym, spa and there is always chance to run in the Bois de la Cambre at the end of Ave Louise or around the Ixelles lakes.

The staff were excellent - courteous, friendly, polite and very helpful.
