“disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013

Great value at the weekends, and the location is good for the Commission, but the rooms were a bit on the small and dark side, and the reception staff seemed unfriendly. The elevator system seemed confusing: separate elevators serve different room numbers and I was directed to the wrong one - it took ages to get to the room.
Will try somewhere else the next time

Room Tip: Try and get a room in the front part of the hotel. Otherwise, the length of walk feels like being in...

Ok rooms and if you are unlucky you could end up walkning (with stairs) and a lift away. That part was not appreciated. Lovely and delicious breakfast:) on the other hand. Had the missfortune to run in to not so friendly staff and cleaners walking in beforw 9 in the morning...

Ideal for EU business trips, close to EU meeting places and public transportation. Breakfast is great (allthough with eur 27 quite expensive); rooms are spacious but relatively far from reception. Internet works well but is not unlimited for use.

Good location, hotel looks good from the outside. Some cool art pieces and entrance halls. Staff was cool. The rooms are the downside. Little space for what i imagined. However the location is perfect for business, 100 mt away from the european comission and from the metro.

A nice, clean and modern hotel, no problem finding the room, even when you're in the back building (somebody else wrote such a nonsense).
Tasteful breakfast, everything perfect.
I liked it very much, the look out the window in the 'back building' is typical for a lively Brussels side street, but o.k.
If you are looking for a place to stay in the touristic center, go to the Grand' Place or Main Station!

This hotel is known by people visiting the European Commission. However it is only a short metro ride out of town and works as a good base to have a look around Brussels. Rooms are larger than you would find in an equivalent hotel in London. The room and hotel quality are very high and the service is great. Friendly staff quickly put right the fact we had booked a twin and the room was a double. The bar is good and serves mostly Belgian beers. Good whiskey selection but not cheap (what hotel is?) Handy coffee shop in the entrance. The metro is reasonably priced and a 24 hour ticket is about 6.5 Euros. This gives you access to the trams, buses and metro. Be very careful if you are after a Visit Brussels card. You can only collect or buy these at the Central station and not at Midi where the Eurostar arrives. If you pre-buy this can be very frustrating as you have to take a metro trip to obtain it. Also watch for the closed days of the museums. No point buying the Visit Brussels card if the museum you want to visit is closed. Happy with the stay at the hotel and will be returning.
A recurring issue for me is with air conditioning. Once again this hotel was way too hot and the air conditioning in the room had been switched off for the winter (I think.) This might influence your room choice as you might want to face the inner courtyard than the main road if you need, like me, to sleep with the window open.

This hotel had a nice services at reasonable room rent. But the breakfast cost was attrociously high. At the same time when I booked for a double bed room but the room provided was a single bed though it does not matter to me. Best thing is the wifi was free and atleast a glass of water was available in the room The other thing was that the entry to guest rooms was through the conference area. There was some Europe employment conference going on which the invitees miled around the place making it difficult for guests to move around. A better would be to islolate these areas. Staff at the hotel were helpful and polite. Except the reception needs to be all the time present and guests should not be kept waiting.
