“Christmas Festival Light Show is a Must”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

We were here last winter and loved it. Belgium was beautiful in general but we wondered around (lost a few times, but without worry) with two European friends (she's French and he's German). We were here for the Christmas festival and the entire square was lite up and they were playing music. The whole event turned from a light display into a big party with kids running around and everyone dancing. It was a great way to end the evening.

Of all the countries we visited, Belgium was my favorite and I'd love to go back.

“Beautiful square sorrounded by architectural wonders”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

A very active area with lots of traffic, many people admiring the buildings around the plaza. Many restaurants and shops around it.

“Very European Square”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

Only in Brussels for a few days, but made this one of the things to visit. Interesting square with great buildings and wonderful shops (especially chocolate!) Not many things in Brussels are a must see, but this should be on your list.

“A must of Brussels”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

Even after visiting the Grand Place many, many times, with friends and visitors from abroad, this remains one of the favored places even for the locals. The Town Hall, the Bread house opposite the town hall and the many guild houses on the four sides of the square are a real testimony to the civilian architecture and town planning from the 13th to 17th century. Several houses representing the various trades and professions of the time are well maintained and now accomodate cafés and restaurants. The square can be quite crowded on Summer days/evenings and at special occasions (e.g.flower festival, light and sound shows, Christmas..)

“It is just a square, but”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2014 via mobile

Its the centre of everything, and architecturally beautiful to boot.

Surrounded by restuarants, bars and choclatiers, it is the place to head if you're on a flying visit.
