“Comfortable and nice hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

Good location - 10-15 min from the Grand palace. So you are easy to have a look the city. Our room was nice and clean but little size. There was no good thing the cleaning-lady came in to the room without knocking early morning for cleaning. There is WiFi. But bad thing you can check-in after 15.00 p.m. and you have to check-out before 12.00 a.m. And there is no place for smoking in the hotel if you book no smoking room. I had to leave the hotel for smoking. it's unconvinient for me.

Dear Guest,

We are happy you find our hotel comfortable and nice.

Accept our apologies for our housekeeping staff. Of course we should always knock on the door. This is a standard procedure. Maybe she was a little distracted.

The 3 hours between check in and check out time are normal in each hotel. We absolutely need this time to clean the rooms and get them perfectly ready for the next guest checking in.

About smoking: More and more Brussels hotels opt for 100% non-smoking hotels as less and less guests accept the sleep in hotels where people still may smoke. For this reason we have foreseen the ashtray just outside the main entrance.

Please do not hesitate to reserve our hotel or our Pillows hotel for your next visit to Brussels. I am sure you will have a positive experience again!

Friendly regards,

Peter Hesp

This hotel was much nicer then we expected, we thought it looked nice in the pictures but it was even better!

Hotel: Lovely hotel with great staff who were all very friendly and had our room ready before check in so we got in a bit earlier. In the lobby there was a few computers and sofas however we never saw much of the hotel other than our room and the lobby.

Room: The room was fab, it was huge compared to what we expected. It felt like we were staying in a suite. The bed had to be the comfiest we have ever slept in, there was a tv in the room which you could watch channels on, free wifi, coffee and tea facilites.
The bathroom was a great size and it was stocked up every day with shampoo, shower gels, shower caps etc and fresh towels and bed linen. There was also a hair dryer in the bathroom.

Location: The location was brill, couple of minutes walk from both the central station and the centre of brussels (near Grand Place). We were within minutes walking distance from many shops, restaurants and bars.

We would definitely stay in this hotel and recommend it to anyone!

This hotel is tucked around the corner around 200 meters from Central Station and is less than 10 minutes from the Grand Place on foot. It's basically a decent business-type hotel with free Wi-Fi. It wasn't memorable, but fine for a night or two to explore the center of the city.

This hotel is just located in downtown. Walking distance to many famouse spots. You can walk around and come back very easily. Like this convenient very much.
The hotel is not a big hotel but it is cozy and has parking place in basement. But try not to drive in Brussels, the traffic is as bad as every big city all over the world. The room is not so big and not so small as well.
Since it is close to the city center so you look outside the window and can feel the pulse of Brussels easily. I will suggest it to my friends.

Dear Guest,

Many thanks for this review. Yes, we are only at a 5-minute walk from the Grand Place and 2 minutes from the Central Station. The hotel is in a calm road though, so not that noisy.

Thanks for recommending our hotel and do not hesitate to come back very soon.

For the second time in a row this Hotel has importantly contributed to make my trip better than expected. It's absolutely well positioned in downtown near to all monuments and 2 min walking from Gare Centrale (you can take the train from the national airport which is the cheapest and fastest connection to Bru ). Breakfast is very good and rooms are cleaned and comfortable .All the structure is modern and recently renewed. Staff is always available for your specific request and willing to support you what ever it takes.

Room Tip: ask for an upgrade and don't miss the Executive Rooms if availables

The staff were professional but at the same time genuinely friendly. The check in/out was informative and seamless. My husband accidentally put the wrong code in the safe and the staff member on duty helped us relax while he fixed it.

The staff speak excellent english.

The lobby was very clean and tidy, it was nice to relax there for a while after a day walking.

Our room wasn't quite ready for us in that we had 1/4 of a toilet roll and 1 of 4 toiletries present so perhaps spot checking the housekeepers is an idea just to make sure the high standards of the hotel are being kept up.

The other days and nights, however everything was present and correct and our room was tidied/bed was made very well - hence why this review is marked Excellent.

The bed was so comfortable - we overslept most mornings because we slept like babies. When the manager replies to this review, please tell me where you source your pillows? I have to have them for home. The mattress was memory foam which is what my back is used to so no back ache from changing beds for me which really helps since my condition is often ruled by how my back is faring. The bedding was perfect - clean and fresh.

The other reason we overslept (apart from foolishly not setting alarms on our mobile phones) were the impressive blackout curtains. If you are easily awakened by sunrise you'd love it here.

I have to agree that the room is a little too dark. The darkest place is right where the safe is so it can be difficult to see what you're typing in/going to wear. The full length mirror is right under a spotlight though so you can see yourself at least :-).

The bathroom was spotlessly clean with a modern, clean hairdrier. May I suggest offering a non slip mat for the wetroom-style shower? I use a moisturising shower gel and it became rather hazerdous in there for me. It was a power shower and the temperature control/intensity was spot on.

The toiletries provided were really nice and moisturising, they were an olive oil theme and didn't aggrivate my sensitive skin. A bath cap was also provided.

Our room was a standard room so the mini bar was empty and there were no tea/coffee making facilities. We were aware of this at the time of booking very near the hotel where you can grab a cup of tea, or if you're feeling flush, the hotel bar.

Overall, the room is modern and very tastefully decorated.

We decided to have breakfast one morning in the hotel. You don't have to because there are plenty of places to have breakfast very near the hotel. I was dissapointed with the hotel breakfast, unfortunately. The service was excellent and the pastries, breads, spreads, cheeses and meats were gorgeous but unfortunately the eggs, mushrooms and sausages in the metal keep-warm containers were very cold. I suggest the hotel buy something better to keep things piping hot for people wanting a hot breakfast. Despite being freezing the mushrooms were very tasty and the sausages were lovely too. The scrambled egg was too runny/soggy.
Get the hot part right and the hotel breakfast is definitely worth the money. They stock nice English Breakfast teabags - I found I had to use two teabags to get it to my preferred strength. If the hotel is considering changing brands for the brits I recommend Tetley/PG tips/Twinings for strength and taste.

Location-wise this hotel is right by the Cathedral so close enough to the centre (I agree with other reviewers estimations to Grand Place etc) but situated just enough off centre to be nice and quiet. We were told by local Brussels people that it's better not to be right in the centre for the sake of noise and expense. We travelled by train and the station was 60 seconds away for a slow walker like me. The nearest Metro station access was 20 seconds away.

This hotel is excellent value for money and we would definitely stay here again. Thank you to all the staff for your friendlines and excellent service. Keep up the good work :-)

Dr & Mrs Penney.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with windows facing away from the office building opposite.

Dear Dr & Mrs Penny,

We thank you very much for this complete and helpful review.

It’s nice to read that you enjoyed staying here. I will certainly pass your message and compliments over to my colleagues.

When it comes to the breakfast, I do not understand how this could happen. Maybe one of the plugs was pulled out... Anyhow, I just checked the system and it works properly. The coming days I will do some spot checks and check the temperature.

Once more, many thanks for your kindness! For your next visit to Brussels please do not hesitate to contact me personally for your reservation.

Friendly regards,
