I like restaurants that I feel 'at home' in.
I love good, honest, slow cooked, real food. You know - the sort where it comes out and it's like Gordon Ramsey was in the kitchen cooking everything but was presented like your grandma was fattening you up for Christmas.
I like it when I'm brought a drink upon arrival, and all other drinks afterwards are constantly topped up.
I really enjoy tasting fresh cooked veg, fries and salads - and when served separate to your main plate - even better.
I love great service where it feels like the staff have known you all your life and they remember your name and always have a chat everytime you visit.
A warm atmosphere, changing artwork, rustic feel, home charmed setting really do it for me too, especially when it's the type of establishment you have to ring a doorbell for - like you're going into a secret club.
The type of restaurant you can spend over 4 hours just eating and drinking, chatting and even dancing at - I like this too.
Well, Le Correge is all the above. But don't tell anyone about Brussels' best kept secret because then everyone will go and we will never be able to get a table ever again. We manage to go whenever friends or family are in town and always go on special occasions too.
Ps - they only open Mon-Fri, one lunch sitting and one dinner sitting. If it's for valentine's or Christmas etc book in advance. Nancy and Phil outdo themselves during the week so definitely deserve the weekends off!
