Theater Hotel Brussels
This is my second time at this place. The first time it praised itself as a 4* boutique hotel. Now, it is down to a 2* hotel, and that is exactly what the hotel is.
There is more than one house belonging to the hotel. I stayed at two of them (maybe there is a third), but please be advised, the main building is the better one. If you get the Room 250 (which is in the house adjoint to the main building), be aware this means basement! I simple hated the room upon trying to open the door. You walk into a tiny kitchen kind of place. A staircase leads down to the bedrooms (2). A window just level with the street is your only source of daylight (basically none). The smell is not the best downstairs as is the overall living experience. The staircase to the rooms on the higher floors is your ceiling and you can imagine how quite it is, when guest return late at night (it has a bit of a Harry Potter feeling). Upon complaining, I was moved upstairs in the main building (room 238). That room is quite spacious compared with many other brussel hotels and the toilete facilities are ok. This room was worth the money (roughly 50-60€/ night).
One word in regards of the neighbourhood: it is one area of Brussels with street hookers, but they leave you alone as the typical tourist/businessman is not their main audience.
