“Nice one!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013 via mobile

My friends went to Brussels last Jan. 29-30. We stayed on this hotel for a night only. It was a very good one! Affordable. The receptionist is very friendly and the staffs are accommodating! Thank you guys. Keep up the good work! Well done x

What can i say.....nice stuff first. The room decor was nice and modern. The front service desk friendly. We had our room upgraded so it was a reasonable size...BUT...(and there is a BIG but......) the street of the hotel contains some other premises of the "adults entertainment" type which made our stay unpleasant. The street had ladies walking the street both during the day and night...Lets just say this is not a place to stay for families.
The building we stayed in was located directly next to the main hotel building and was on the third floor. We had to heave our 23kg bags up several sets of stairs.. there is no lift... so also not good for the elderly or anyone with a mobility disability.
At night there was alot of noise around the place. Overall, memorable, but for the wrong reasons.. (unless of course you want to be smack dam next to "adult entertainment facilities" ).

Room Tip: Not suitable for mobility disability for upper levels.

I cannot express just how much we loved this hotel.

We were searching for a place to stay in Brussels that was (a) big enough for a family of 5, and (b) didn't blow our entire vacation budget, leaving us starving paupers standing in front of Mannekin Pis with extended hands saying, "Please, sir, might you spare a euro for the children?"

Although we were a little apprehensive about the location of Theater Hotel(being in the Red Light District), we went ahead and booked it for both the beginning and end of our tour of Europe.

Best. Decision. Ever.

Right off, let me address the issue of location by saying that the location is a non-issue. Just about everything in Brussels is an easy walk from the hotel, and the working ladies are unobtrusive enough that we didn't notice them much at all. Certainly they weren't dressed any differently than most of the other women we saw in malls and around town.

They did not bother anyone in our group, and the area is safe enough that I (female) was perfectly comfortable walking around at night. For comparison's sake, I will say that the area was both cleaner and safer than Times Square in New York City, with the "professionals" less obvious and in-your-face.

As to the rooms - they were HUGE! They were also very comfortable, quirkily decorated, and a pleasure to stay in. Our kids were thrilled with the space.

The staff was very attentive and polite, and seemed to speak every language they were presented with.

And the breakfast was a great added value - easy, quick, and filling. I also appreciated how clean the staff kept the breakfast area.

The decor of the hotel fits perfectly with the name - and it was a welcome relief from the bland chain hotels we often use while traveling.

This will now be our default hotel when traveling through Brussels.

Room Tip: The stairs can be daunting! If this might be an issue, call ahead - they do have rooms that don'...

This hotel is being renovated, certainly at ground floor level, and they have just reinstated breakfast in the lobby as part of their service. It looked as though my room was having some electrical work being completed.

Even though I know Brussells reasonably well the location came as a bit of a surprise to me. The streets around are well populated with ladies of the oldest profession, but anyone can walk to and from the hotel without a problem.

Rooms are large, clean and tidy. My room was more like a studio flat, my only niggles were the water pressure in the shower and the fact that lift was out of operation during the refurb.

I feel the price fairly reflected the inconvenience of the refurbishment.

Staff are very helpful and friendly. I would book this again and perhaps increase my rating when the work is finished.

Room Tip: Ask to stay in the main building and not an annex.

According the fotos and the reviews in the webpages we booked this hotel but the room was terrible! First room they gave was smelling terrible and the bed was full with hair! We changed immediatly but that terrible smell was same in the other room too! Bathroom was terrible and the towels were like used that feels like dirty to use!hotel is 20 mins walking away from the great place area! But ok to walk! The street where hotel was full with prostitues so makes feel a bit unsafe!

I stayed at Theater Hotel in Brussels for more than a week on a bussiness trip. The hotel is located not far from the city centre and close to Yzer Ijzer metro station. The rooms were very spacious (suite), with a small kitchenette and they were cleaned everyday. They also changed my sheets when I requested. The staff is always trying to help and I think they are renovating the hotel continuously.
On the whole it is a good hotel for the price they charge. Nonetheless, I did not have a fridge in my kitchenette (really!), there was a lot of noise from other rooms, due to very thin celeings, and there is no lift inside the building I was. Finally, it is true that it is a prostitution area, but I felt safe everytime and I saw police patroling the area twice.
Therefore, it is not a bad deal at all!

Room Tip: Ask if you have the fridge in your suite and make sure to ask about twin beds if you need them.

In the red light district, it was very reasonably priced and they gave us a large room with kitchenette. We could walk everywhere from our hotel. The only down side was that our room faced the street and there were noisy people outside yelling late at night.
