“Haven in busy multicultural city...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

Hosts: Sofie & Stephen Very helpful with city map, sights to see, local restaurants.
June 13-15, 2013 120 Euros per night, tax included, breakfast included. Cash only, no credit cards. Non Smoking.
Room #5 - 2 twin beds together to make King, sofa, coffee table, desk, shelving units and small hanger area. TV with DVD player (DVD's available in the breakfast room), selection of books - take one, leave one, free WiFi (good connection and speed). Large room with high ceilings, light and airy.
Bath with sink, toilet and soaker tub/shower - very nice, included body lotion, shampoo and body wash.
Kitchen with 4 burner cook top, fridge, microwave. Dishes, cutlery, pots, frying pan, glassware/wine glasses. Kitchen also has breakfast bar with 2 stools for dining.
One window that opens to street below. Quite loud on street, lots of cafe's outside, but windows when closed are sound proof.
Room is located up 5 flights of stairs, quite a climb after a day of sightseeing or carrying large cases, so beware when choosing a room, specify mobility issues upon booking room.
Close to South train station, about a 10min. walk. Close enough for walking tour of major attractions in centre Brussels. Close to major transportation hubs which we didn't take advantage of this trip.
Breakfast: separate breakfast room with tea/coffee available 24 hrs. a day. Breakfast includes eggs (cooked to your desire - scrambled, fried, boiled), breads, selection of pastries, cereal, juice, meat, cheese, yogurt and fruit. Coffee is made by an espresso machine, so espresso and specialty coffees available in the morning. Nice selection of toppings for bread/rolls - jams, honey, butter, Speculoos spread, (a gingerbread flavored spread), chocolate sprinkles, Nutella. Milk and Dark chocolate squares for enjoyment anytime.
Brussels is a multi cultural city and this B&B is located in one of these diverse neighbourhoods. Safe and secure. Would recommend.

Room Tip: Lots of stairs to our room - 5 flights, if you have mobility issues, specify when booking and ask fo...

We enjoyed three fabulous days at Sweet Brussels. The room was quite large and was spotlessly clean. Sofie the host was georgeous and spent considerable time orientating us with the city. Each morning started with a fabulous breakfast including eggs cooked to your liking. Totally recommend this B&B.

This was our first stop in Europe after approximately 24 hours in transit and it was exactly what we needed! The accommodation was easy to find from the train station (around 10 mins walk), and the room was spacious, clean and well appointed. When we arrived Sofie warmly welcomed us and graciously assisted with carrying our luggage up the stairs to our room. The bathroom was great and the shower was brilliant! (No bath shower here!) The bed was a little uncomfortable as we tended to fall towards the middle (was also two single mattresses joined together - not a king) during the night and the pillows were European (square) and a bit too large to be comfortable. The room we stayed in "Room 3" also lacked a little privacy (ie, you can kind of hear people in the hallway - and they could hear you.) The breakfast in the morning was excellent with a good selection of fresh fruits, cereal, bread, cheeses and eggs. There is also free wi-fi provided - and it was excellent the whole time we were there. The accommodation is an enjoyable 10 minute stroll from the Grand Place (city square) and the city of Brussels is perfect as a first stop-over, if you (like us) were looking for somewhere to unwind. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed staying at "Sweet Brussels" - and would recommend it to other travellers. We had an excellent experience here (with only minor qualms about the bed/pillows).

My partner and I stayed at this B&B recently. Benno and Freida (the owners) we so lovely and their B&B was just as nice. On arrival Freida greeted us and gave us a tour of the house, a map of Bruge and then she sat down with us and suggested some nice walking tracks. When we went up to our room - it was massive! We had our own tea/coffee and mini fridge (the beer and coke were only 1 euro).
The breakfast was the highlight of our stay at this B&B - Benno whips up your eggs, bacon and coffee anyway you request. We will definitely be back!

This little B&B was exactly what we needed when the weather was so horrendous in Brussels in January. It's very clean, very comfortable, and the owners are very welcoming. There are a lot of stairs, especially if you're staying on the top floor, but it's so worth it. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again.

Room Tip: I love the shower in room 3. And the amazing windows. It would be even more of a delight to stay her...

Stayed three nights. Sweet Brussels is located rather near the train station, probably 10 min walk and is rather easy to find. The surrounding area is not very touristy but I would deem it safe. The room that we stayed in was spacious (very spacious in fact) and very clean and homely. Sophie is a wonderful hostess and she is happy to share the best places for chocolates and where to visit the sights. Breakfast was delicious and the best part is, there is a coffee machine that is free of charge all day. In the afternoon whenever we went back to recharge, it felt great to get a drink from the coffee machine. A great B&B in Brussels!

Stayed three nights in July with my wife. This B&B was in a great location (5-10 min stroll to the center of the city or the nearest metro and 5-10 min walk to the train station). If you are looking for a good jumping off point for day trips to Bruges or Ghent then this is the spot. The area surrounding the B&B was not in the touristy section but it was very safe. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. There was a wonderful breakfast made to order every morning and a great coffee machine that was free of charge all day long! I doubt you could find a better B&B in Brussels!
