“Fantastic Hotel with GREAT location, nice rooms, and wonderful value.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2011

Staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are warm and inviting as is the rest of the hotel. The location should be the biggest draw as it is close the the cathedral, and two squares with great places to eat/drink. Amazing quiet hotel as we were able to leave our window open all evening with out being disturbed by noise. Mechelen is a great find of a city.

This Novotel is modern and clean, and it is located about 200 meters from the Centrum center.

The roads around the hotel were all under construction making GPS useless. Once at the hotel, the underground parking was fine, just getting out was a chore. No humans to help, and my euro card worked about half the time. It is a public garage, so hotel personnel could not help.

The room, particularly the bathroom was cramped. I'm short, and couldn't turn around. It reminded me of those Tokyo little "hotel" crypts....
Internel is not free and various plans are confusing.
However... Very clean and modern, breakfast was self service and fine.

great hotel except for one service issue: most front desk service personnel are great. for example, question of place/food for dinner and the reply was super, curtious and successful. However!, the final bill was a disaster: (1) the breif printout was unclear and when asked to provide a more clear print out, the answer was "out of ink". (2) the bill is not at all clear what the final charge was, never mind a breakdown of the charges. unlike that of Holiday Inn where the charge was not only clear, in Euro but also, converted to USD. as a result, at the moment, the customer can NOT submit the business trip expense report to the customer's employer because the final "brief statement" does not reflect the bill at all -- the expense report cannot be done until a statement from the credit card company (Master Card) is obtained by the end of the month. could someone in the headoffice of the hotel email the customer a copy of the final bill, in both Euro and in USD, to: lee.chen@tel.com

Clean modern Bathroom, separate toilette. Unusually for a European Hotel ,tea and coffee making facilities in room( Very expensive coffee at the bar though, 27Euros for 3 coffees!!)
Underground Parking but difficult to find (entrance hidden ,no signs)
Free public internet use.

Room Tip: Have Coffee elsewhere ,will be a fraction of cost!

Fantastic location - right in the town close to best food and wine area and the market. About 15mins from the train station or a 10euro taxi ride :)
Novotel is a standard mid range product with well trained and pleasant staff. Worst thing about Novotel is expensive breakfast and very expensive internet..
