“Fabulous location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

We stayed here 13th December to visit the Christmas market. It is a short walk from Central station which was perfect after travelling from Cologne and arriving late. The check in was very smooth and helpful even at 10:30pm. The room is small but adequate for a short stay. The wifi is very good and its free too! There is no tea/coffee facilitates in the room but you can get free tea and coffee from a machine in the reception area and there was croissants there too, if you wish to have them warm there was a microwave too. The breakfast is complimentary too - buffet style and the choice is quite good.
The room we had was front facing so it was noisy. The only other thing there was a strange smell in the hallway / corridors but NOT in our room.
The hotel will look after your cases for you in a locked room so they are secure and when we went to collect our case it was quick and efficient.
If you arrive late there is an excellent cafe ( a couple of doors away - towards the station) that cooks food fresh, loads of choice and very tasty food. The staff are very friendly too. I think it may be an all night cafe.
We had a lovely time in Antwerp and the markets are fairly nice but I think the best Christmas market I've been too so far in Germany is Cologne.

Stayed here three years ago and booked again because of the location and cheapness.

Neat and modern: city style, basic but clean and friendly enough. Free coffee machine and Wi-Fi next to reception. Room just about large enough for a short stay (three nights for us) and the breakfast good value with all the usual Continental selection available.

Will look here again for our next Antwerp break.

We were delighted with the central location of the hotel and the very friendly staff. The room we had was perfectly adequate for sleeping, showering etc and the price we paid was reasonable considering we were so well placed for all the facilities and sights etc. The only downside was the dreadful smell that lingered in the stairwell going down to the breakfast room. If you took the lift down then you could usually avoid it though.
Despite this one issue we would not hesitate in staying here again and it is good value for money.

Room Tip: We had a quiet room on a high floor at the back of the hotel which we asked for having read other re...

Only stayed one night. Main objective being to go to I Muvrini (Corsican group) concert at De Roma. Just along the road from De Roma, couldn't be more convenient for the staton, and not too far from the old city.

Stay at Ibis hotels a lot and it was up to usual standard, especially in view of special offer which meant we only paid 39 Euros, which included breakfast!

My wife and I spent two nights in this hotel. The location is very central - very close to the Central Station and lots of restaurants and bars on the Kaiselei. It's also convenient for the city centre tourist attractions and shops. However it's not the quietest of locations - the Antwerp tram system starts up around 5.30 am, as we could hear even in our 6th floor room. The staff are efficient and pleasant and there's a very convenient underground car park with 25% discount for guests. The breakfast is decent value with a good choice.

However, the furnishings in the rooms are, at best, functional. There are no drawers whatsoever and instead of a wardrobe there are a couple of pegs, each with four coathangers. The bed was basic, though not uncomfortable, but we had to ask for extra pillows to supplement the very small ones that presumably are standard. The rooms themselves are pretty small and we noticed that some of the decor in our room was in need of refurbishment; presumably this is a high volume hotel in which the rooms are used a great deal

The worst thing about this hotel, however, is the pervading drainage smell. This is at its worst in the basement - just where the breakfast room is situated! but it seems to travel up the lift shafts and spread throughout the hotel. We understand that this has been a problem ever since the underground carpark was built in the square outside and attempts to solve the problem have failed.

This is a pretty basic hotel. I suppose you get what you pay for. It's ok for one night but if you are looking for somewhere to spend two or three nights while enjoying Antwerp then I'm sure you can do better without breaking the bank.

We were with another couple and their views were the same as ours.

This is a plain, simple, value for money hotel situated right in the centre of Antwerp within about 50 metres of the zoo and Central Station.

Few hotels in this price range in Antwerp offer both breakfast and internet access within the daily rate: this one does - the breakfast is good with a wide choice and the wi- fi although sometimes a bit patchy was usually fit for purpose.

Over the years I've stayed in a fair few hotels in this area. Until recently - when I retired -the tab was on expenses. Paying for it out of my own pocket has enforced some budget consciousness and I'm pretty sure that this hotel offers as good or better value for money than any other in central Antwerp.

It's perfectly comfortable but by no means luxurious. Rooms are decently sized and equipped - en-suite is effectively a wet room and better than most. You get quite a few bangs for your buck. Excellent value overall.

Room Tip: Quieter rooms are to the rear. The square at the front can be busy until late.
