“Everything ok, but not much more”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2005

Stayed here for the Jazz Festival, wich was held nearby. So the location for us was perfect. As is said in other reviews, the hotel is near the motorway and pretty far from the city centre. Rooms are quite small and a little outdated. The staff was not very friendly, especially at the reception desk. The barman was even quite rude. Only the breakfast staff was friendly and helpfull. The breakfast buffet was good and above average.

nice hotel, miles outside of the city center on the ring road.
traffic noise could be terrible but they have installed top of the range double glazing, so with both inner/outer shut the traffic noise isnt noticeable.

All rooms have air-condtioning

Nice bar with massive t.v screen for watching the Football.
Try to get a room from 1100 or more ( great views of antwerp high up )

Great restaurant ( try the mixed grill ).

Taxi rank just outside of hotel to take you into the city ( 10 euro's ).

hotel setup more for buisness people, as they have modems/wi-fi/confferance areas.

But overall

Very Nice hotel.

came for 2 days to shop around and try some belgium food. the hotel is very conveniently located just outside the exit, no hussle, bussle. 10 min with the tram and you are on the city center. parking around for free...
Great pool and decent food complimented the stay so we could visit brug and gent on the second day and come back with out problems. recommended (especially with those deals..) for your next stop there.

As the previous guy said, the hotel is on the RING ANTWERP - therefore it is in and around the motorways. I would classify as a budget hotel. So, if you get a good deal (50 EURO) then worth it otherwise look elsewhere.
For some reason the quality of this hotel is really not very good. The lobby/rooms will remind you of the 70s/80s as they need to update the decor....or taste. The pits of my stay at this hotel was when the plumbing was faulty! Luckily, we had a booking at a better hotel - so we checked out after waiting 2hours for the front desk to send someone to see why we had no water in the room. Did not make a big fuss because the management at the hotel seem like they had just been discharged from the Army for being too harse! Some of the older staff are really nice and helpful.
Regarding the location, I think the best word to describe is MAZE! It is in the middle of several motorways crossing. Hard to tell if you are coming or going... I just knew I was going and never coming back!!!

Conclusion: stay away from this hotel unless you either cannot find another hotel in Antwerp or get a good rate (less than 50EUROS).

Rooms are good, service is good, bar is pretty boring. But all this doesn't matter. Located on the ring road way out of town, this hotel is mostly for people who travel on business, and need to connect with their laptops. They charged 50 Euro Cents per minute for every phone call, including local and toll free. Hello!? You should be punished, and I hope this will help.
