“Really nice and central stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2014

We've stayed at the hotel for one night only, but it was really comfotrable, not that small and recently repaired. Highly recommended for those who travel by train looking for price+comfort balance. The personnel is also very helpful.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

Sometimes we book a 5 stars hotel and find out it's a mere 4 (or less). This one is the opposite. It's a 3 stars deserving to be a 4 (or maybe more, depending on some minor adjustments).
It has a perfect location if you're travelling around Europe by train - about 50 meters far from Antwerpen Centraal-which worths a visit, by the way-, and a few steps from Antwerp Zoo and the Meir, the commercial main artery of Anwerp.
I'm digressing a little, just to explain how I loved this hotel so much:
I've lost a deadline and desperately needed a package from Poland via Franceuntil December 22nd, and had no other choice to send to the hotel I was going to. I first asked if it was possible, and Mrs Lisa Borman not only wrote me on the very same day telling me to send the package there, but offered to take care of it personally. So I did.
Mrs Lisa had wrote me 3 e-mails telling me about my package, but mainly, managed very professionally with the Colissimo red tape, which demanded my signature to deliver the package. She sent it to the Post Office Agency, some 300 meters far from the hotel and had warned the staff I was going to pick it up- writing me about it!
AMAZINGLY efficiency and professionalism! Very, very hard to find, even in 5 stars hotels.
Upon arrival, our room wasn't ready yet, becauise we've decided to arrive early in the morning, and our luggage AND my package were conveniently stored until our return.
Quick, very attentive and polite check-in, with a very competent multilingual staff, even the young trainee acted like a real pro, with a good attitude and were happy to help.

A very clean, well decorated modern and good looking lobbywas there, welcoming everybody. I've listened perfect French, Dutch, Flemish (of course...) Italian and German, fluently spoken by the staff.
Our room hada modern, very well applied decoration, immaculately clean, spacious- which is not common in Europe, and BRIGHT CLEAR!!
For my readers who are aware of my rage against dark, poorly illuminated rooms, this one was perfect!
It was the first time I could work in December at night and check the room without my torch light.
There was an insanely clean bed, matress, brand new pillows, bedsheet and towels. These guys are obsessed with cleanliness like the Japanese! Two thumbs up!!
There was a LOT of facilities at our comfort besides the usual kettle-minibar-safe.
Glasses, three different types of them, spoons, sweetener and sugar, tea and including a nespresso machine with complimentary capsules (for an entry level room). There's also complimentary bottle of water in room and free wifi. Some managers should stay here to learn this lesson and outfit their own places the way it's supposed to be-delightful!
These little details are the ones which definitely makes a stay more pleasant.
The neighborhood is not properly quiet, but unless if you're a farmer or live alone in a VERY small town, it isn't a problem at all.
The street noise is the same as a busy city, and perfectly managed by the windows and curtains.
BIG spaces to store coats and clothes, travel bags and everything you want completes the overall impression.
A clockwork security system allows you to reach your level and yours only upon inserting your key in the elevator slot. Two thumbs up!
A very, very nice, spacious, comfortable bathroom with a very decent shower and a big bath tube will give you a great time after a long journey.

There is only one tiny problem: those tiny 10 ml bottle of body&hair shampoo...
Why that little? One 10 ml bottle per person, and fortunately there was a bar soap on the sink, or else I could have to ask for more. I'm posting some pics of them.
Being THAT cheap isn't neither comfortable nor fair to this nice place, and I'm really sorry I'm having to write this.
I've been in lousy hotels with a big refillable liquid soap bottle attached on the wall, which sounds like a great idea, because if the manager is thinking about economy, making these tiny personalized flasks is a little bit more expensive...
GREAT sleeping quality, very safe neighborhood, unless if you plan to walk alone at late night near the Central (which is NEVER a good idea anyplace on the planet).

There is a shuttle going to and coming from the airport, if it's the case, and the whole tram system to and from Antwerp at your feet.
This hotel will give you 90% of the fancier hotel for 50% of the cost, and it's a big YES if you ask me if it's a good idea booking it for your next travel to Belgium.
Well done!

Room Tip: Ask for a business double room. It worths every dime!

Friendly and professional reception, with authentic customer care. Rooms are well equipped and comfortable. However if the room faces the street, the noise level is high due to passing by pedestrians and the tram stop in front of hotel. It may be better to ask for a room on higher floors or facing the back/side of the hotel. The location is great next to the train station and shopping streets, the old town is a 20-25mins walk. Overall a good experience and value for money.

Really nice hotel with good facilities. The hotel is located only 50 meters from Antwerp central station.we had a view over the square in front of the hotel. The rooms were luxurious and big. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Nice pool and breakfast.

I stayed here with my husband on friday 6th of Dec for one night and enjoyed it.
The hotel is a small version of the Radisson Blu chain. The room as nice and the bathroom was modern with a standing shower. I asked for a tooth brush with paste and someone from reception came up to the room and was promptly provided. The bathroom had shampoo and body cream was really clean. I booked a room without breakfast so I cannot comment on that. I would definitely stay here next time I am in Antwerp. The room had A/C and it was working.

Room Tip: rooms at the back side are quieter

I stayed on a Saturday evening and the whole experience was smooth, the service impeccable and the room and bed surprisingly comfortable including a nespresso machine with complimentary capsules (for an entry level room). I will warmly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: don't get a room facing the street,

I had stayed a couple of times at the "big brother" of this hotel, the Radisson Blu, which is on the same square (across from the train station). I found it overly designed and not worth the premium prices they charge.

This newer property gives you 90% of the fancier hotel for 50% of the cost. The front desk staff was not as experienced, but had a good attitude and were happy to help. I upgraded to a "business room" for a moderate cost and I recommend this. Complimentary bottle of water in room. Wifi was free; you could upgrade to higher speed for 10 euros but the free version was perfectly adequate for email.

Shower was hot but a little dicey to control. Breakfast was OK, although the buffet was set up in a single-file line so you had to wait for each guest to complete their fixings before the line could move. Medium gripe I would say.

Anyway the management seems to have taken their lessons from the big brother and have outfitted the little brother very well, with lots of the little details that make a stay more pleasant. Well done!
