“Very welcoming staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

Went here for a long weekend on 20th Sept 2013 for my husbands birthday, we got a taxi from Antwerp airport which was 15 euros. The staff at the hotel are the most informative I have come across, the guy on reception gave us a guide and told us the best places to eat. There is a Argentinian Steak house (ask at reception for directions) within walking distance which is just the best, truthfully I had chicken and was not disappointing but my husband had steak and it was delicious and so was the chips ect. Went to the old part of town which was lovely and quaint and had a few beers while watching people on the flee market.
Make sure you have a beer in the square and watch the world go by for an hour.
Its not the cheapest place but definitely worth going for a weekend.
If your going from Antwerp airport back home dont go to the airport 2 hours before because there is no need, 1 hour is quite suffice.

Well equipped, well located, clean and comfortable. Feels much like a business hotel really but ideally located for transport and attractions on a city break. Lots of cafés and bars near by so don't pay the breakfast premium.

Lovely room! Very helpful front desk staff. Recommended a great restaurant, and accommodated us for an early breakfast prior to catching a train. Hotel easy walking distance from train station and old city sites.

Well, position is probably the best feature, 10-15 minutes walking from the Cathedral.
The hotel is 100% "average": whenever there is something good, there is also something to improve.
The room I had was 601, sixth floor, very large; but, it needs definitely to be refurbished, both in furnishing and fittings (shower hose in the bathroom!).
And, the elevator reaches fifth floor only, then stairs!
As for the breakfast, finally a glass of juice larger than a sip and real eggs, not foam; but bacon and eggs are cold, and the coffee too.
A mention danish pastries: fresh and a lot of cream.

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights during a business trip. I took the Thalys train from Schiphol to Antwerp Central Station which only takes one hour to get there. From the train station to walk to the hotel will take you about 10 minutes and is very well doable. Do make sure you have the hotel address on your phone with something like Bing Maps, because it might be a little bit of a challenge to find it otherwise.

From the hotel to the touristic city center is about a 10 to 15 minute walk which is also very good. Also located nearby the bus terminal from where all busses and a couple of trams depart to take you throughout the city.

The rooms are very spacious and so is the bathroom. I had a large bath and a shower in the bath. Only bit unlogical thing about the shower was that it was spraying in the direction of the side of the bath and due to the gap in the glass panel at that side, you would always end up with a soaking wet bathroom floor after taking a shower.

Free still water and sparkling water were provided each day in your in-room minibar as well as tea and coffee to use in the kettle in your room. Air conditioning was nice, though at times a little bit noisy and it couldn't get the room really cool, but better than nothing for sure.

Internet connection was fair. The wifi did have signal drops a couple of times per hour in which you would loose connection for a couple of minutes. Whenever it was up, it was of pretty good quality and fair speed.

The bed was big and very comfy with a variety of pillows.

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

No facilities like a gym, pool or sauna unfortunately, but for tourists who are there to check out Antwerp I can definately recommend this hotel.

As we arrived via Eurostar and the excellent Belgian railway service to Antwerp, we were relieved to find how accessible this hotel is from the station, without being near enough to suffer from the usual melee around stations.
Comfortable room, with good soundproofing, and excellent breakfasts - even including a glass of sparkling wine!
The only slight drawback was the bathroom which needed updating, though everything worked: we certainly didn't have a bathtub on the 5th floor.
Air conditioning a bit fierce but necessary. Very welcome kettle/tea/coffee. All in all, very good value.
