My wife and I stayed at the Corinthia in October 2004, we found that the facilities ie; Bar and Restaurant were very good and the service is great, ( But then the Belgian people are so very good at customer service ) and the hotel staff are really helpful. The hotel in cleaned to a very high standard. Now for the Cold side, the hotel is shadowed by another building and it cuts all the sunlight out making it very cold at night, we had to ask for extra heating in our room.
But we still enjoyed our stay and would recomend the Hotel Corinthia.

I have just returned from an extremely poor experience at the Corinthia Antwerp Hotel. 1st - checking in at the reception took 40 minutes, there seemed to be only one person helping a queue of people. Even though other staff members could see the queue, they simply ignored it. Extremely slow, hardly what one would describe as welcoming. 2nd -The staff at the breakfast room, especially the gentleman there was highly unkind, impolite and staring at me with the utmost disgusted face. I should have reassured him that I actually had a right to breakfast, considering that I was paying for it, this was the most disturbing part of my experience, to be stared at like I was too filthy, too low to be having breakfast there. 3rd- At the bar, a waiter had taken my order, showing his annoyance that it did not include any alcohol and that I had somehow disturbed him. He failed to see that I was obviously pregnant and was quite cold and arrogant. 4th- It amazes me that for a supposedly four star hotel that you can hear other guests using their bathrooms, the isolation is a definite major issue. 5th- checking out was another experience, just paid the bill at the reception and no thank you's or good bye. The only area of attention I received was when reception was verifying the details of the bill. They seemed pretty keen on getting everything right that I was charged for. A pity that they cannot transfer some of that energy into making people feel more welcomed. The service was absolutely poor, not say that it was completely absent. I have travelled extensively, been guests at a variety of hotels and this 4 star hotel has been the worst of them all. I would not go back and would definitely not recommend it to anyone. I have received better service at 3 star hotels!!!!

Have stayed at the Corinthia on business several times now;- it's definitely one of my top ten hotels. Its a large modern building on the outskirts of Antwerp, though very easy to find from the main road. Rooms are well-equipped and comfortable, always spotlessly clean. I always appreciate the complementary glass of champagne on arrival - a nice, imaginative welcome.
The restaurant is very good too, well above normal hotel standards, though they can become over-stretched if a large group unexpectedly arrives. My only real complaint if I had one is that parking spaces are limited in the underground car park and that they don't yet accept AMEX.
