“Friendly place, nice view, good choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

Spent two nights at the Hampshire hotel. Must say that I underestimated the distances in The Hague - if you have business meetings in the south of the city, it can take 20 mins or more to reach these places by taxi. But the hotel location is OK otherwise, several restaurants and shops close by. Had a room on the top floor, the view to the cathedral and the rest of the city was very nice. Drawback, the elevator only goes to the fourth floor, but no problem for me (but I did hear some elevator noise, with the machine being close by). Staff was very friendly and professional, breakfast OK albeit not abundant. Water pressure in the shower a bit low.

Room Tip: See comments above.

The stuff was kind, the breakfast was delicious,
to say is that the aditional blankets are sometimes not available if the hotel is book out.

But it was a good place to be with good wireless lan in the room.

This is a friendly, clean hotel. On a main Rd ( ask for a rear room though) Angelique is a star member of staff ! Near a tramline, and the breakfast is reasonably varied. Great service, I'll revisit !

Room Tip: Rear rooms as main Rd is a little noisy

I stayed here for three nights on another business trip to The Hague. It was a fairly late booking and my usual hotel was charging silly prices. This one was 93 euros including breakfast which was reasonable.

It is a pleasant enough older style hotel: clean and large room with comfortable bed and a modern bathroom. The free wifi worked very well and the staff were friendly. The breakfast choice was what you would expect for this medium range hotel, with standard hot and cold choices. It is easy to get to from the station or the centre on the (frequent) number 17 tram and there are a couple of nice restaurants nearby.

Beware that the icons on the website showing the room facilities are a bit misleading. I was expecting both air-con and a minibar/fridge. My room had neither! If you hover a mouse over the two offending icons you see that they apply only to the Royal Suite. Like an earlier reviewer I found the shower temperature varied too much for comfortable showering.

The pros outweighed the cons and I would sty here again on a business trip.

Room Tip: There is a road at the front but it did not bother me.

The Reception staff were helpful but there weren't many of them, which meant that they were not providing room service. The minibar in the bedroom was a fridge which was a bonus as we put some milk in it for our tea and coffee. The hotel brochure in the bedroom was a bit out of date with respect to the hotel services and facilities. We stayed in the Royal/Bridal suite which was lovely and very big. It had a hot tub which could have fitted 4 people in! Only snag was it took half an hour to fill up and you couldn't really control the water temperature once filled. The bed was comfortable and the room had nice decor. The bathroom had a very big shower (big enough for two!) and twin sinks. The room was on the top (fourth) floor and the lift only went to the third. We had a really good view from our balcony [see photos]. Breakfast was free and there was a wide selection including meats, cheeses, fruit, yoghurt, pastries, breads, spreads, chocolate sprinkles, bacon, eggs (scrambled and boiled), toast, teas (including fruit and herbal), coffee, hot chocolate. There was free wifi too which was useful - you had to activate it with a code from Reception within two hours and it lasted the duration of the stay, despite what it said on the receipt. Call Reception if you can't work out the safe! The cleaning staff were helpful and brought us extra hangers and an iron when we asked. The hotel is conveniently located to nearby tram stops for transits. Oh, and by the lift there were bowls of apples! Bonus.

Room Tip: Bridal/Royal suite on the fourth (top) floor was amazing but the lift only goes to the third floor.

We are a family of three including an infant 9 months old travelling from Oslo by car, via Stockholm, Silja Line ferry to Helsinki, ferry to Tallin, Estonia and car further to Riga, Latvia - Vilnius, Lithuania - Gdansk, Poland - Berlin, Germany - Den Haag and Amsterdam, The Netherlands - Copenhagen, Danmark and ferry to Sweden and finally driving back to Norway.

We have had a terrible stay at the Hampsire Hotel. We booked superior double roms, and these rooms are in a bad need of refurnishing.
During breakfast we bare got any space for our stroller.

We had these couple of nights in the Netherlands in order to go to a daytrip to Amsterdam before travelling further on our trip.
We can highly reccommend a visit to Amsterdam, but this was the last time we have stayed at this hotel.

Room Tip: Stay clear of this hotel if possible.
