That's exactly what we were thinking before we left the Netherlands. And The Haagsche Suites let us indulge in our last moments.
The Setting: We stayed in Suite 2, blue engraved ceiling, elegant sitting room, fine details in the furnishing, 2 fireplaces, huge bath tub, modern little kitchen, lovely table beside the floor to ceiling window, exquisite textiles, elegant china cabinet, and a bed you cab melt into. The location was just right, tram station was a minute's walk away, and the hosts are more than willing to arrange transport too.
The Service: The owners welcomed us in and gave us a tour of the place, taught us how to operate the kitchen appliances, fireplace, etc. They asked us for our plans and if they can customize the stay for us. Our hosts were always looking after our needs. Everything had a personal touch.
The Best Part: The next morning, Guido arrived at the requested time to set our breakfast in the sitting room. After the tiring rush from last few days of packing, it was a treat to have lovingly prepared fruit salad, tea, cakes, sweets, fresh croissants... Like our personal little breakfast buffet!
This place is a little slice of luxury, highly recommended for couples. For families with little kids, this may not be the best place--there are decor and furnishing that may may be too delicate for the curious little ones. I think a stay in this hotel will be a good anniversary gift to parents or friends.
