“Friendly and comfortable and well placed for visiting The Hague”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

We stayed here for a four night break and were delighted with the hotel. On arrival we were given an extremely spacious room, well equipped with free tea, coffee and cuppa soup, and a welcome note. Breakfast was fine, fresh fruit, cereals and excellent bread. The hotel is on the 24 bus route which goes through town and the central station or to Kijkduin with its sand dunes and wide seas. A short walk takes you to the number 17 tram, ideal for many attractions in town and this also goes to the central station. The hotel overlooks a small lake and canal, peaceful and pleasant for a short walk including some embassy spotting! We came back to our room to find that Sinterclaus had left us a gift. He had arrived by steamboat in The Hague that day so to see him check the date!

Room Tip: Room one on the ground floor is very spacious and comfortable. There is no swimming pool but I can...

This is an older property without much to recommend it. The room we had was small with industrial-type carpeting that had been often patched. The ancient elevator was broken during the latter part of our stay. The included breakfast was OK. The staff was nice and helped with directions and recommendations. It is very close to the Gemeentemuseum, the Peace Palace / Intl Court of Justice is also not so far. However the downtown area with most attractions is a long walk of 30 minutes or more.

We had a problem with our reservation - we had tried to cancel but the info on expedia.com (where we made the res) and the Best Western system was different. The hotel agreed we only had to pay for one night, but never did figure out how to get that info into the BW system. We'll see if we get charged for both nights. Also it turns out that every BW is independent with the result that they cannot track down a reservation by number unless it is for their own hotel. They cannot access records for other hotel's reservations. So trying to work things out between two BW hotels took a lot of phone calls. Obviously this is a peculiarity of Best Western's system and not the fault of the hotel.

Dear Gary Birder,

Thank you for your review. We are happy to read that you liked our team and service. We can assure you that the second night will NOT be charged, as promised. As all Best Western hotels throughout the world are independently owned, all hotels will differ in building, service, setting, facilities, etc. We think that way guests will always have an authentic hotel with passionate owners instead of many other look-alike hotelchains . We hope your stay with our colleague, the hotel you intended to book, was very nice and would like to wish you all the best!

Kindest regards,

Emma van Dorsten

We stayed almost three weeks and our stay was great from beginning to end: great staff, excellent prices, quiet-large-simple-clean room with a patio. Excellent breakfast, perfect location, in a quiet and stately neighborhood with excellent public transportation to everything that is worth seeing. The hotel is across from a neighborhood park, and our dogs loved it (and still do as we elected to rent an apartment in this neighborhood for our long-term stay). Hotel Petit's owner is the driving force behind the dynamic and service-oriented staff. No impersonal frills, plenty of customized help. Hotel Petit is for personable stays complemented by Euro-American style services, which make for great hotel stays.

This is a cute and eclectic hotel located in the embassy district of Den Haage. We were able to get a last minute reservation and were very delighted with the beauty of the area. Our room was very large but had no ventilation. It looked like a college apartment full of worn and mismatched pieces of furniture. It was as clean as it could be so we were not unhappy. The people were very friendly and helpful. We used their bikes and rode to the beach which was a highlight of our trip. The breakfast area was charming and wonderful.

I stayed here in April 2011 but trip advisor doesn't allow me that option! Maybe I am reviewing late. But nevertheless this was my first experience with Best Western. Located in the more quiet section of the Hague, this hotel may seem far from the bustle of the Hague, but it is the kind of silence we all need. Run by a friendly family this hotel is hardly full, and its silence is always a good feeling after a long and tiring day.Very good and personalized service. AS usual free (although very tiny) "business centre" (With only one computer, it does have its inconveniences and be ready for a queue!

Room Tip: If you need serene view, take the upper left view.

Booked last moment the Best Western Petit for two nights. I took bus n 24 from station to Brudstraat- Buldshuit stop ( not sure about spelling) really easy cost 2.50 euro for a single trip bus stop near Hotel. Hotel is not in the centre it's 20 minutes walk from the centre after Peace Palace near embassy area. Very nice area lovely buildings, posh area but in bead weather you are stuck with the good and reliable service of the bus which stops nearby.
I took same bus n 24 to get to the Centre & back ended up paying around 18 euros...

I first got a room on the first floor but I thought it was too noisy so I asked to be moved or at the back of the buidling or higher up. The hotel is on a busy main road so from the front and side of the Hotel room you can hear noise from ongoing traffic. The back of the Hotel should be more quite. They gave me another room top floor very nice with yellow panelling still could hear noise from cars there is no double glazing on windows.
Room was well kept very clean nice with small flat screen tv and nice shower, bed bit to soft for me I like a hard bed. I did sleep well first night but second night I didn't a bunch of kids where calling each other from corridor below and opposite my room late at night I told stuff in reception and where v helpful and sorted the problem. If you are sensitive to noise like I am I suggest you to ask for a room at the back or bring earplugs thought I could still hear people slumming doors the following night with earplugs..
The Hotel is nice, stuff very friendly & helpful. I really enjoyed the breakfast I liked the mini Dutch pancakes thought there where no croissants but other types of pastries which I didn't eat & no bananas & no dutch pancakes my favourite on sunday. The musli & yoghurt was of good quality but no soya milk or an alternative to diary products, no bacon but they had lots of differrent types of fruit, cheeses, ham, jams a good variety. The breakfast room is nice you can see a garden in the distance..
I liked the Hotel and the stuff but I think next time I would go in a soundproof hotel in the centre to save money on bus fare and get a good night sleep.

Room Tip: Room at the front and side of building noisier

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for this interview! We are very glad to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. For your next stay we suggest you book a room on the back side of the hotel, it is very quiet there (we only once had a complaint about the birds that sang too loud...). Also, we now sell tickets for public transport, wich will save our guests a lot of money (2,60 to the center and back). So, once again, thank you very much and we hope to accomodate you again soon!
Best regards,
