“An efficient and comfortable Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

I have stayed at this Hotel many times over the years and feel that it has improved in value since my first visit (when it was the Dorint). It is attached to the World Forum and so great if you are having meetings there. It is easly reached by tram from Den Haag Centraal Station (number 17 I think and you get off at the Museon stop) and at the other end of Johan de Wittlaan you can catch a tram the other way to the beach at Scheveningen. The staff are great and the service at reception is on par with some of the better hotels in Asia.

The rooms are comfortable and well appointed and I really appreciated the fact that there are both hard and soft pillows. The Wifi, however, is not free.

The hotel restaurant is run by a contractor (as it also serves the World Forum) and is reasonable value. The restaurant breakfasts are great, although they were not included in my room rate. I will be back again in June next year and know that I can rely on the Hotel for a perfect stay. Definitely recommended to business travellers.

Room Tip: Get as high up in the buidling as you can for great views of the Hague.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for your extensive review of our Novotel. We are very proud of your comments about the new rooms and particularly about the service our staff provides.
Our WIFI connection was and is free of charge, maybe you have mistaken it with our cable internet connection which is not free.
We will be happy to welcome you back in June 2013!
Kind regards,

Krijn Taat

I stayed here for two nights on a recent business trip and my best impression is that all the staff that I came into contact with were helpful, curteous, polite and efficient. The rooms are clean and spacious, great shower, plenty of towels, coffee and a small fridge. Bed is very comfy and there is a choice of pillows. My word of advice is that the restaurant is a touch expensive but the food is good. The hotel is close to a convenient tram stop which offers options tom the city centre or the coast (although it was bit cold). I thoroughly recommend it as the hotel is very good value for money.

Expensive not to big rooms average, former Dorinth hotel, expensive bar. Price to high for a Novotel hotel. location Okay but not near to anything. Room was clean but very basic, no movie channel but free wireless internet.

I stayed here for a week on a business trip to Den Haag, and enjoyed my stay from beginning to end. The staff were courteous, friendly and good-humored, going out of their way to provide assistance and advice. The room was clean and serviced thoroughly. Lighting is bright but well-designed, not glaring, the bed was comfortable, with both soft and firm pillows provided. I liked the little daybed by the wide windows, and loved the little refrigerator with its glass door - a rarity in a reasonably priced room. Continental breakfast is provided at the bar - don't stray into the restaurant or they might let you eat an expensive hot breakfast before disclosing the price; really that was the only part of my experience that was less than lovely. The hotel is in a green, quiet neighborhood - at least it's quiet when there's no conference going on at the World Forum. It's between City Centre and the beach at Scheveningen, convenient to the trams, if not so close to shops & restaurants. Within easy walking distance of the Gemeentemuseum, Museon & Omniversum. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it.

Good location for business. Nice modern, clean, well lit and functional rooms. Bathroom did not have a tub but had a very large and nice shower. Rooms in the upper floors provide great views of the city. Staff was generally welcoming and helpful.
The minibar was empty which is inconvenient as you need to go downstairs to get drinks.
Great value for money overall.

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floors provide great views

3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

This was an average stay at the Novotel - it could have been so much better.

Two major issues:

1. the airconditioning system was not working - no cold air from the vents, even with the thermostat set to it's lowest temperature setting and highest fan speed. The result: a (very) warm night and ambient temperature of around 23 degrees - not a recipe for a good nights' sleep (which it wasn't)

2. I ordered in-room breakfast as I was in a hurry the next morning and had a 9.15 appointment. I requested delivery between 08.30 and 09.00. Unfortunately, it arrived only after 09.05 when I was about to walk out the door. Ended up eating it on the way down in the elevator. Also, the price is /way/ to high. I ordered just an orange juice and some bread (one croissant and two little rolls, which is the only choice, but a single roll would have been fine as well) and had to pay a full EUR 24! Unfortunately, the price is not on the order form, but you are only confronted with it at the moment of delivery.

I mentioned both issues at checkout, but unfortunately no compensation was offered.

Some minor issues:

- Faint smell of smoke in pillows
- Just plastic and paper cups - no glassware. Fine for a 2* motel, but not for a 4* hotel.
- Only three nespresso cups by default - one decaf, two regulars - Meaning that you're out of the regulars with just a single double-espresso. sure, they will bring you some more if you ask for it, but why not just stock up the rooms with some more?
- Small/short beds - if you renovate, why not put in extra long and wide beds? Tall people are no longer an exception!
- Minibar without any contents. Everything can be had at the reception, but you'll have to go downstairs. Not a good option if you're just looking for a nightcap or cold bottle of water late at night.
- Start offering some larger size bathrobes - tall people are no longer an exception!

Positive points:

- Modern, clean room with nice interior
- Modern bathroom - everything present and more than enough soaps, gels, shampoo, etc - no bathtub however
- Complimentary water
- Friendly staff
- Good location
