“3 Star”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2006

I booked this at very short notice through American Express travel - there was a large conference happening in The Hague so all the normal choices in the city centre were full. I was only going to be staying in the hotel for one night so I was willing to take the chance.

The name of the hotel is rather unfortunate and would put most English speaking people off staying there. This is a 3 Star hotel - don't expect any of the glitz of anything above. The rate for the room was somewhat high at €135 but with the limited availability, I had no choice.

The hotel located on the north side of The Hague city - about 6km from the Central Station - close to the beach but no views to speak of.

The staff were very pleasant and were helpful in organising a taxi for the morning especially as there was a public transport strike on that they kindly notified me of in advance.

The room was clean and beds were comfortable.

Expect
Clean room
Friendly staff
Late bar until 1am

Don't expect
Any views from the rooms
Internet Connection from your room
Anything above 3 star

Would I stay here again? - would not be my first choice but I have stayed in worse.

This hotel is a lovely and charming hotel, just a few yards from the seaside and the beach. The rooms are very tidy and nice, not too large, but just enough to be comfortable. There is no view. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was simple, but altough there was a variety of food. The quality of the food was good. We had dinner at the restaurant. There was a choice of meat and fish, which was well cooked and beautifully served.
The staff was very friendly and helpfull. A good place to stay while in The Hague

This was my first visit to Scheveningen (like Blackpool in Holland but much "MUCH" cleaner!). I think overall Scheveningen is exactly what Blackpool / Southport and all the other UK beach resorts would want themselves to be like (i.e. clean and no scum!).
BTW... I like Blackpool, I go there with my family every year to see the Circus - so I'm not biased.

OK - I was on a work away day trip, majority of my colleagues are Rotterdam based so they decided to host the event in the Dutch seaside town, which after the flight, train and tram I very much enjoyed. The company attempted to book into other hotels but couldn't find anywhere that would have vacancies for so many, so we stayed at the Badhotel (much to our ammusement - it's probably an English thing!). The Badhotel is away from the prom, but just up a dyke (or some hilly thing).

The rooms offered were all smoking room, which I don't like since I'm a non-smoker but luckily mine didn't stink too much - other colleagues said theres did (so I was lucky!). The room was at least very clean! Breakfast was usual continental with very little choice...

Overall it was OK, but I have stayed in better (much better) e.g. Hilton chain.

One final thing about the resort, if you ever are staying there check out the night spot crazypianos - Best night out I've had in ages... Absolutely BRILL... Wish the'd have one in the UK.

Having read the previous review it was with some trepedation that this hotel was visited with a number of children and adults. However, the previous review could not have been more wrong. The car park was easy to use and the hotel staff were perhaps the most helpful I have come across. Nothing was too much trouble from rearranging ordered lunch and dinner to arranging transport to a local venue. The rooms were comfortable for this level of hotel. Although only a small number of people used the restuarant at night the food was fantastic and well worth staying for.
The perfet base for visiting The Hague (a tram stops outside the door) or for travelling on to Amsterdam which is a further train ride. Paulo, Mike, Norman the Waiter and all the other staff made for a memborable stay and this hotel will be visited again

Situated 5 minutes walk from the town centre and 3 minutes from the beach, Badhotel is poor at best, despite a recent make over.

Parking:
Staff did not explain that parking is charged at almost 13 Euro per day. The small carpark next to the hotel was full & I was instructed to use the overflow carpark, which is a dilapidated piece of waste land that is filled with junk! 13 Euro for this!?.

Rooms:
Single room was very small and noise from other occupants was clearly audible.

Service:
Cleaning staff ignored 'Do not disturb' signs. I was woken 5 times within 3 hours. The attitude of Desk Staff was generally unhelpful.
