We only stayed one night and I still miss the room! It is on a lovely lively street in Rotterdam with a good selection of bars and restaurants. But the hotel itself is the real draw. We stayed in the Coco room. It was spacious and beautifully decorated. There was everything you could possibly need or want. A fridge with a bottle of wine, beer and cans of coke all included in the price of the room! Breakfast brought to your door and a huge menu to choose from. And the makings of coffee and high quality tea and some snacks. We had a selection of dvds to watch and the bed was a "Coco Mat" bed, made from 100% natural fibres. I am not exaggerating when I say we both had the best sleep of our lives. This was after 4 days in Amsterdam which we loved but which was always noisy at night and the rooms too hot and stuffy but the streets too noisy to open the window. Here (at the Small Hotel) we woke after a long deep sleep and felt like we'd been under a spell. I would go back to this hotel just to enjoy the room, in the dead of winter, never step outside the door, just enjoy the wine, dvds and amazing bed. And the huge bathtub. I really miss this room! It is also very well run. Anyone worried about the fact that there is no real reception, don't. We arrived early to check in and simply rang the number and the very kind gentleman who runs it all arrived from two doors down and sorted us out in a jiffy. He was very kind and helpful and assured us that if we needed anything we could call on him anytime. We enjoyed the feeling of freedom it gave not having a reception, the rooms are like mini apartments so it feels like your own place. But you also have the security of knowing that if you need anything at all you can call. Plus check out is incredibly easy, just leave your card in the room and go. If you are going to Rotterdam it would be a crime to miss this place. It is unlike anywhere else and will give you a very special experience.
