“Nice place to spend a rainy day.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

Nice varied collection of classic and modern masterpieces. Picasso, Dali, Rembrandt, Matisse, Van Eyck, etc. The museum restaurant only had sandwiches, soup, and pastry. But at least it had free wifi!

“One of our favourite museums”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

Boymans has a nice combination of classic masterpiece paintings (Tower of Babel is my favourite) , modern works of art (the guy standing from the basement loooking throufgh the floor) and from time to time so temporary expositions, which make return visits worth while. It's not too big to take in in a single visit, but not too small that there is not enough to see. And if you should get bored anyway, the architecure institute, Kunsthal and photography museum are all less then a couple of minutes walk away. If you are lucky the Van Nelle Villa built in the Style architecture in the 1920's across the road will also be open.

Beside that the building itself is also nice and our kids loved the coat rack. Accessibility by wheelchair (or child stroller) is possible but not optimal.

“Besides the great artcollection your smile starts at the wardrobe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

I visit boymans van beuningen museum regularly. I love the collection of artworks and temporary exhibitions. Just entering the museum, you'll start to smile when they take your coat to the wardrobe: see it hanging high in the caroussel! This museum is a nice place to spent quiet hours and enjoy the beauty of creative imagination from artists through the ages.

“nice restaurant in an excellent museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

Very pleasant, informally stylish cafe/restaurant in this wonderful museum. Nice place for a coffee (with apple cake!). On our second we had lunch - very good soup, choice of freshly prepared sandwiches.
