“Location and outside views are the strength points”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014 via mobile

I stayed there for 2 days in June 14. The location is good, tram stop is just outside the hotel and if you step outside the hotel you will find the river and Erasmus bridge. One other good thing is it's fairly clean.

It's not a luxury or high end hotel by any means, you get what you pay for literally. But for me, it was enough as I want an easy access hotel, clean room and a safe place.

I didn't try food but it wasn't busy in the mornings or night.

Had one issue with my phone battery dying and not have an EU charger, I requested it at the reception but they don't have any as " customers" used to take them and not bring them back. So I asked if I can plug the phone into one of their computer USB charger but they refused, gave me the directions to media market to buy one instead. All in all, it wasn't convenient as I was traveling for some work and needed my phone all the time. Apart from that staff were honest and helpful.

I would like to say that this is a clean and basic hotel but the location gives it a 5 star. The staff is very friendly , they offer free wifi and breakfast has good selection. But once you step out from the hotel you can have a excellent view during night time and almost all the modes of commuting are available. the rooms are very basic but neat and clean.

The placement of the hotel is ideal, at night or daytime the view when you go out of the hotel leaves you breathless, the reception staff was more than helpful and polite. I felt good seeing so many multithnic people, that is a sign of modern management. With the rooms you have to be lucky or to book one with a view in advance. Overall good quality for price

Room Tip: try and book a room with a view before you pay

The hotel is basic, yet clean. The staff is very friendly and nice, breakfast good (caters also for Asian tourists and has small selection of Asian breakfast staples). Tram is on a doorstep, so is waterbus and Spido boats.
On the minus side. Rooms are small and beds are narrow. And it can be loud if you keep the window open (noise from tram and occasional reveller coming home from clubs across the river). If you are sensitive to noise a room not facing the street and the river might be the option.

Room Tip: If you are sensitive to noise a room not facing the street and the river might be the option.

The hotel has a good location with great views of the river from rooms on the higher floors. Rooms are very basic (and we had a deluxe one!) but have a comfortable bed and are clean. There is a cosy bar downstairs. The restaurant serves 13 options for dinner named menu 1, menu 2 etc..... Each menu has the same starter - soup of the day, and the same dessert of the day, the only difference is the main course. It all sounded a bit too youth hostel to us so we ate at the hotel next door where you had more choice. Breakfast was also very basic but it was OK. The room where it was served was café like and full of pictures and models of big boats, reminiscent of a fisherman's mission. It is one of the more odd places I have stayed. There is a secure room to park bicycles for free.

Room Tip: Go high to get the river view

Stayed for 3 nights middle May. Location is very nice with a beautiful view of the Erasmus bridge. Hotel décor is dated (tired). Staff very friendly and helpful. The single room is small but sufficient. Once again everything is dated. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Bar is a very nice place to have a drink at night with visitors from all over the world. If you walk out of hotel and turn right up the promenade you arrive at a beautiful little harbour and lane lined with trees housing stunning mansions. This takes you up to a stunning park. There are nice restaurants in the area. Location wise the hotel is at a very good spot. Will recommend to others with the proviso they must not expect a beautifully decorated hotel.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view of the Erasmus bridge. Will have noise though as it is over the entrance to t...

Very basic but clean.

I used it as a base to see a concert at the Ahoy stadium. The metro station is walking distance.
Staff were efficient. Had a view of the river.

Maybe Rotterdam is just not a good place to be but I tried walking around between the main train station and the hotel and didn't find much of interest. Very dead
