“A good hotel in an excellent location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

The best part of this hotel is its location. It is located at an amazing location (very near to the Erasmus bridge) and the night view from the front side of the hotel is just fabulous! The location also appeared to be safe. Euromast is just around 1 km walk from the hotel and the harbour boat trip Spido starts just from the front side of the hotel.

The price charged for my room (single room with shared bathroom) was excellent value for money. The included breakfast was also reasonably good, though nothing exceptional. The maritime themed general design of the hotel was also attractive.

On the negative side, the size of the single room was a bit too small and you should chose it only if you would be using the hotel just for sleeping! The window was opening to the inner part of the hotel (which we means I was seeing only the windows of other rooms, and missing the beautiful views other rooms might have been offering!!). When I entered the room, there was also a hard smell inside, as the windows might have been closed for a long time. There were also some spots in the carpet, which definitely requires cleaning. The free wireless internet connection in my floor (4th floor) was having connection problems many a times. So the hotel should also try to rectify that problem.

Stayed here for three nights and really liked it. The hotel was really clean and had a nice feel to it, but it is a little dated in places. If you like to have a drink at your local and enjoy the banter you will love the bar at the maritime, it's small cosy and has a happy hour ..for me..perfect. The rooms are small and not designed for you to spend time in them. We had a triple room which only had one chair with the tv mounted high on the wall on the same side as the bed-head so relaxing watching tv for a little while before you went to sleep wasn't an option. Breakfast was included and hit the stop. The tram stop is bang outside the hotel entrance and it's about a 10/15 minute walk to the centre

Stayed here for few days. The hotel is located right in front of the Maas river. And has easy acces to all the modes of transport within the city. Rooms are a bit smaller but manageable. The hotel offers complimentary wifi access. They do not have room service. Since tap water in Holland is safe to drink, they dont provide bottled water in room. Breakfast at first floor restaurant is plentiful.
The hotel as name suggests has theme of ship's accommodation.Furniture, fittings, etc resemble those on ship.
A nice hotel, within budget. Enjoy your stay.

Room Tip: The emergency exit doors have a nice view, and I was tempted to go out through these doors to click...

Fantastic location for sightseeing, very close to central station. It is right next to Erasmus bridge, wonderful views from the rooms over the river. Room size is OK, the hotel is very clean and plentiful breakfast. All in all, the hotel is perfect if you visit the city for sightseeing or conferences, as it is close to the Erasmus centre. I think it is great value at affordable price.
Staff is very welcoming and helpful too.

Room Tip: Don't go for the rooms with a shared bathroom unless you really need to save the money. The room...

Nice hotel with great view right in the center of Rotterdam. Rooms are spacious and the bathroom is excellent, especially the big bath with bubbles!!
Breakfast is a little expensive but you can find enough breakfast-restaurants a few minutes around the block.

This does not pretend to be anything else. Rooms a bit sparse and quite small, but its in a very good location.
Represents OK value for where it is. Clean Room and plentiful buffet breakfast. Staff helpful and no issues during our stay.
Within easy walking distance of the various Restaurants dotted around the area.
We were passing through on way to Amsterdam, so hotel fitted the bill perfectly.
Overall rating good at this price; but would suggest not an ideal place for couples or a family staying more than a couple of days....
