“A Fabulous mini-vacation at the Manhattan Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2011

Quite often as I exit the Rotterdam Central station, I see the Manhattan Hotel right in front of me and I can’t help wonder how it is like to enjoy a night there. There is something about the grandeur of the building, the stylish people in the lounge, and the glass entrance.

For my girlfriend’s 25th birthday who shares the love of the better things in life every now and then; I decided to gift her a night at the Presidential Suite of the Manhattan Hotel. An excellent and recommendable investment to all couples out there.

We were treated with smiles upon entering the hotel and all was arranged quickly. We took the elevator up to the 11th floor and walked through the purple hallway to room 1112. One of the best moments is when you enter the room and are overwhelmed by the size of it all. So big you don’t even have to get down to the gym for your routine joggings. It took us time to comprehend where we were. It’s all in the details, the cookies, kiwis, chocolates and much more waiting for you, only to be surprised by room service with a special welcoming gift. The “illy” coffee machine is brilliant, makes you feel like a barista in Milan. Good jazz cd’s with 3 different sound systems fill the room with even more ambiance. Half of the suite is windows providing direct sunlight and a great horizon seeing as far as the city Delft.

I have not sat on anything that’s not comfortable from blue couches to leather office chairs. In the shower, we particularly liked the Zenology shower products that have a great smell. The telephone next to the toilet was funny.

The best thing is the bed, period. The matrass is so comfortable, it makes you look forward coming back home from your night out.

Breakfast was the icing on the cake, a buffet of English & French breakfast in addition to fruits, cereals and juices. A piece of smoked salmon on a toast with fruits is definitely a good way to start your day. Staff “Marije” was alert to our needs, refilling our cups with thee or coffee and bringing new cutlery.

All in all a very positive stay for the both of us, one that will be cherished forever.

A group of four, we stayed at the Manhattan Hotel Rotterdam in early September prior to embarking ship for a Baltic cruise. This is a great hotel in terms of location, facilities and service and we would unhesitatingly recommend it to friends and fellow travellers.
The Manhattan is located across a huge plaza fronting the Central Station but currently it is quite challenging to navigate the short walk over due to massive construction works in progress. Hint: call the hotel from the station and a porter will be sent to assist with luggage.
The staff at Reception, Guest Services and at the restaurant La Brasserie are outstanding - unfailingly courteous, friendly and helpful and most attentive to guests' needs and requests.
The rooms are lovely, very spacious by European standards, well-appointed and well-maintained with marble bathrooms supplied with fine toiletries. The restaurant serves high quality cuisine and offers a daily prix fixe dinner which is very good value. The buffet breakfast provides extensive choice including a great variety of fresh fruit.
Overall, we were highly impressed with our stay at the Manhattan Hotel Rotterdam and would without reservation rate it the best place to stay in Rotterdam.

Stayed on night of 15 September. Reception extremely helpful. Went down to the dining room around 8.30 to find a flustered maitre-d arriving at our table to, as he said: "Tell us a story." A large party had just left. There was a restricted list of steaks, and absolutely no chicken, in any form, even including a Ceasar Salad. We're thrilled to see wine from a friend's vineyard offered. But throughout the meal, it is never left near us and is only poured during the rare appearance of a waiter. I ask what's happening. "It's chaos back there in the kitchen, all hands helping out," we're told. I don't want blinis with my smoked salmon, but there's no brown bread. There are only eight diners in the room, seating 50. It takes an hour from entering the restaurant to receiving the main course. But the food's lovely, the staff charming - just not around much. An odd hotel. "The Teachings of the Budha" are found in the bedside drawer. Perhaps necessary in order to learn patience? Oh, and my personal credit card, which reception had recorded, had been used to bill us, rather than the company card. I didn't notice until I returned home later in the month.

This hotel was worth the money. Stayed here during carnival and couldn't beat the location. 1 minute from train station and buses/trams. 2 mins from main shopping area.

Rooms very clean and had every facility and more. First room was not made up but we were moved instantly with no fuss.

Staff very attentive, dealt with queries with a smile.

Breakfast was delicious.

Most comfortable bed ever slept in.

Had use of the executive lounge - free drink, nibbles, internet and sky tv.

Could not fault hotel and will stay here again on my return to Rotterdam

Room Tip: Executive rooms same as standard rooms, but worth it for access to the exec lounge

Very clean and tidy hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Large room, big bed. Lovely Zenology beauty products in the bathroom, and fluffy towels. Nice to have the gym, but it would have been great if there was a swimming pool as well.

Great hotel, really friendly/helpful staff, nice rooms, no complaints at all. Not sure why I bothered going to Rotterdam on holiday but if I was forced to go again would definitely stay here.

We did book the room from a auction so we dient pay much. The braafst was okay but also average. I wouldt pay the normal price of E 28,50 per person !!!!
