“Ok hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

Stayed for one night only.
Nice hotel, quiet location, a bit out of the center. But good transport connections - tram station in front of hotel.
Rooms spacious, clean and tidy with beautiful view. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Terrible service from the reseption regardless of assistance requested.
Terrible breakfast with food items not stored in a favorable temperature.
Terrible small old rooms with poor quality and no space to put your suitcase besides on the bed.
Location pro: Close to a tourist canal boat.
Location con: Far distance to nearest ATM, pub, grocery store etc.

I spend 3 days in this hotel that has a great location beside Rotterdam highlights like Erasmus Bridge and Euromust tower. Walkable distance from the center and with a great restaurant inside. However you pay for location cause room has around 15 sq meters and you can't storage a big luggage with you in the same place. You have to pay to leave the car inside a public park near the hotel so include 20 EUR per day in your fare.

Room Tip: Choose a doublebed even alone and ask for a room in front of Erasmus Bridge 5th floor!

We chose this hotel for it's proximity to a venue for an event we were attending, which was then changed, not the hotels fault, but this left us a little further out of the centre than we would normally like, about a 20 minute walk. The room was large and clean, but could have done with a mirror. Bathroom was clean, modern and spacious. If there was an option for a 3.5 rating I would give it that. Staff were efficient, but didn't go out of their way to be any more than that, if they had been a warmer may have stretched to a 4, but it was just average.

One of the worst hotels we ever stayed, stuff was helpful but we could see on theyr faces they're doing that just because they have to.The elevator is shaking and making noises like its gonna fall and we gonna die in there .Room seemed to be clean but it wasnt, the more we checked the state of the room we discovered dusts everywhere and the room we had, didnt have a view.Through the huge window we could only see another wall and windows.Shower was like from previous century!!!Duvet was making noises that much we couldnt sleep,we make a move and we woke up.
If u are a looking for a cup of hot water, you wont get it cause bar is simply closed at 10.00pm !!! And during the day we didnt even want to go there, cause whoever sits is a local customer and looks at u like are an alien. I didnt like the breakfast, but my friend was saying it was okey.

Room Tip: Make sure they give u the room on riverside.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The view from my room was spectacular, and I spent a lot of time looking out the window, watching the passing boat traffic on the River Maas. The room was clean and comfortable, and quiet. Enjoyed the use of the coffee maker.

Good points: Clean, good public transport connections (easy access to city center and other attractions - you have tram 7 in front of the hotel and the subway at a 5 minutes walk), nice location (not crowded, nice view over the river), good breakfast (it is a decent breakfast with all you need - don't expect fancy).

Not so good points: The room is small, but if you are not staying for long, i don't think you will mind it. Yes, it is small, the bed is smaller than average but it is clean and decent. The ladies at the reception desk are not that helpful - don't ask them for directions or public transport because they will not know what to tell you (at least two of them didn't).

Highlights:
-Tram 7 takes you from the central station to the hotel. You hop off at the end of the line.
- You can buy tickets for public transport (for 1 day, 2 days etc - in Rotterdam the transportation cards are for each day, not for 12 hours, or 24 hours) in the central station, over the counter, or from the machines, but you have to pay with Maestro.
- Check your card in and out every time you hop on and hop off the bus, tram or metro. Otherwise your card will block and you will not be able to use it anymore.
