“Europe's largest harbour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

We took the tour of 75 minutes. With this boot trip you get to see one of the worlds largest harbour (3th) The ship is nice with also a playroom or children.

The tour is in English, Dutch, German and French and a must see if you are in Rotterdam

“Not a Must Do activity”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

Harbour cruises as a matter of course attract people who like staring at ships or hear about freight or dream about exotic destinations. This one almost fails in this aspect, i would say. Departing from the impressive Erasmus Bridge the tour takes you seawards to the exact point where it starts getting interesting, and then it turns around and goes back the very same way. On your 75 minute- tour you see the bridge, lots of other interesting architecture and the ubiquitous canal barges of Holland - but of course you don't need a cruise for any of that. You don't really get to see the cutting- edge working harbour of Rotterdam. The inner (and older) parts of the harbour which you do see are either empty or in some state of re- development and are, to be honest, pretty boring. The constant pre- recorded commentary in several languages can't spice it up and quickly gets irrelevant or even annoying. The cruise is comfortable enough though; you can choose to be seated indoors or outdoors, they have refreshments for sale - but it is not a Must Do activity and not really what a ship buff is hoping and coming for.

“Good way to see some of the biggest port in Europe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

We went on a Sunday and we had a buy-one get one free offer from NS.
The trip lasts 70 minutes, and gave some good views of the river and some of the docks.
There is only time to see some of the docks nearer to Rotterdam. the boat does not go past the oil terminal or Europort. For that you need a longer tour.

There is a commentary in Dutch, German, English and French. It is best to sit on the right-hand side of the boat - I guess I should say starboard. Lots of facts and figures, but not as many jokes or anecdotes as you'd get with a live tour guide.

There is lots of seating inside and out, a bar, toilets and there seemed to be lifts for wheelchair access.

“A way to pass the time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012

This tour of the Rotterdam harbour is a pleasant way to pass the time but would not make it on to my list of ‘must do’ attractions in Rotterdam.
The facilities are comfortable and the staff friendly with either indoor or outdoor seating as well as the option to buy refreshments. However, the pre-recorded commentary, in about 5 languages, quickly became obsolete as by the time it has finally spooled through commentary on one aspect of the harbour we have almost passed the next topic of discussion. A large part of the tour is dedicated to exploring the various freight facilities, so unless you are really interested in boats it is not the most riveting tour available.
