The museum is located in the center of Leiden, it has a very nice collection of historic objects, the most impressive part is the Egyptian collection, followed by the Roman collection of which a lot of the objects were actually found in the Netherlands!. What is also interesting is the exhibition on the top floor which shows objects from the ice age till the 19th century which were found all over the Netherland during excavations.
The building is old, but has been adapted to meed the needs of the current times.
The museum has an Egyptian temple which in contrast to most other museums was not robbed from Egypt but given to the Netherlands by the Egyptian government!.
It is worth a visit!.
