3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

Nice menu, pretty good food, not tot pricy, the atmosphere is average and the service ok. Nice for something not too special.

“Rubarb, five ways!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2012

No, this is not a criticism it is the description of my dessert.

Preceeding that there was a wonderful asparagus soup and plaice. Attentive service, reasonable prices for the very high quality food, all prepared to perfection made last Monday with friends a very pleasant evening.

“Not as good as it thinks it is”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2012

First the positives. The food was good and fresh (hence the long wait between courses), but the best bit was the amuse-bouches. The menu is a complicated thing with fixed choices though you can mix and match. It isn't cheap, though - starters run €7-10 and main courses can go €17-25. There are also tasting menus.

The chef has obviously learned to make foams and mousses and the menu is full of things like langoustines with a langoustine foam. There isn't a lot of clever mixing of ingredients and, to be honest, the dessert the folks at the next table had looked like baby food so we didn't bother. That is, we would have bothered, but at 8 o'clock in the evening they'd run out of several choices. This, we were told, was the fault of the other diners, who had eaten everything, the unspoken argument being that it was so good they couldn't resist,. Maybe they were just hungry after the small main courses. My wife had "two types of chicken", which was exactly right. One type was chicken breast and the other type wasn't. What it was isn't quite so clear. The waitresses work hard but there are obviously some policies in place that make life harder for them The large group (8 people) at the table behind us had restricted choices because their (prebooked) group was so big. I don't know many restaurants that would see 8 people as significantly harder than, say, two groups of 4 who happened to arrive together.

“Great gespachio soup”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

Very much enjoyed the gespachio soup. It had a piece of grilled fish on top, which made it something special.
The rest of the meal was reasonable, but not amazing.

Be warned, the menu is all in Dutch, so if you don't understand, too bad!
We had the waitress translate it for us as we have dietary requirements & needed to know what we were eating. Fortunately one of them read & spoke English well enough to do this.

The service was reasonably slow, though.
