“Adequate for one night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

Stayed for one night in August with the family. The rooms were small, bathrooms tiny. The beds were the most comfortable hotel beds ever.
The hotel is small and basic with very steep stairs. We were allocated two rooms, one on the first floor and one on the second. Having struggled up the first set of stairs with our luggage, my wife and I decided to take the room there and sent our daughters on up to the second to stay.

Breakfast the next morning was acceptable without being exciting.

There is a pretty little garden area at the back leading down to the canal. Unfortunately when we asked if we could go into the garden we were clearly told 'No'.

Location-wise it is a fair walk into the centre of town and the canal life.

Overall it served our purposes but I would caution anyone with mobility issues about staying there.

I ve been there with my boyfriend in august
The hotel was good! Really nice but little rooms with bathroom with all the furniture!
It is located in a nice street, 20 minutes walking from the central station!
International breakfast!;)

What I liked:
* The location is lovely, a really pretty street an easy walk into the city centre. It is quieter than city centre hotels and but there are plenty of neighbourhood bars and shops around, plus buses at the end of the road.
* The staff are nice and do try to be helpful
* Breakfast was good and there was plenty of it
* Free wifi
* Coffee and cake in the lounge

What I didn't like:
* Bizarrely difficult to book. It seems to be only possible to do this online and staff don't seem to know about availability
* Extremely steep staircase down to the basement, without adequate handrail support
* Tiny and badly decorated room, poorly furnished with an uncomfortable bed and lack of hanging space.
* Very dusty in the room. Everything accumulated a layer of dust over night, which I really didn't appreciate one little bit.
* Small uncomfortable bathroom with very little space to put anything
* Expensive for what you get - but I get the impression hotel prices in The Netherlands are generally on the high side (colleagues in a more expensive hotel in town also felt it was poor value). It felt like a budget hotel, and I certaily would have given a better rating if it had been half the price - but there was nothing budget about the bill!

I hated the stairs as a partially disabled person and felt they could have been referred to in their blurb. They were incredibly steep even for Holland. Otherwise I loved it, staff were delightful and I would go again but be nearer the ground

Use this hotel regularly for family visits, because cheap, comfortable and convenient. Rooms are basic, but clean and tidy, the beds are comfortable and it's a quiet area. Tea, coffee, cake and fruit are available downstairs all day which is nice, and breakfast is good. Not a hotel to sit around in, but great as a base to go elsewhere. Easy walk into town, bicycles to hire, bus to the science campus on the corner, supermarket down the road. Do beware though: it's several converted Dutch houses, so the stairs are more like ladders, which are a bit intimidating if you're not Dutch, and certainly not suitable for mobility problems!

the hotel is situated near biltstraat, where a lot of young reastaurants and pubs are located, really an interesting neighbourhood! The rooms are really small, the baths too..very narrow stairs, even for younger people with heavy suitcases. breakfast is ok, but the variety a little bit limited. Cleaning service is perfect. BUT: if you compare prices, and you don't expect too much, it is perfect. 46€ per person is fair in a double.

i would say it's a kind of hell the time i stayed in this hotel. as i couldn't find any hotel available i am forced to opt for this,
Room provided is just 8x8 feet and the restroom is just 3x3 or something like that. the steps are small and dangerous because of slippery nature.
And the Hot water is the biggest problem and the heater in the room was not functioning properly.
Bed is 5x2 feet and cant fit for me at all.
No proper reception and no telephone to check for any facilities.
Breakfast is kind of eatable at least.
Wifi is damn slow in fact it didn't worked for the initial 2 days of my stay.

I would say never prefer this hotel even if you don't find any other...

Room Tip: there are basically 2 buildings. prefer the one in the same building where reception is there.
