“Perfect location, friendly staff, but small rooms (?)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

I stayed at this hotel with our company (20 people) for 3 nights in april 2013. The location is excellent with walking distance to everything you need to reach in central Utrecht. The staff was very welcoming and helpful.

The room: It is possible that I had bad luck, but the room I got was very small (single room). Nice bathroom (also small) and comfortable bed. The room was facing the front of the hotel which was a bit disturbing when the streetmarket salespeople started shouting early in the morning on a saturday - the fact that we had a long night on the city's nightlife the day before didn't help either... :)

Nice breakfast.

We also used the conference facilities in the basement. I worked for our purpose, but there were some problems with the wireless internet and projector equipment. Other than that we did enjoy our stay at this hotel very much.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the part of the hotel facing away from the main street.

there were seven of us staying here and we loved it, the staff were friendly and obliging, the breakfast was super and the rooms were very comfortable. Apollo is in the old city and close to everything you want to visit. Dont miss the market outside the door on saturdays.

Room Tip: rooms at the back are probably quieter although it was quiet in the front where we were

Our stay in Utrecht was just wonderful, and our whole experience was enhanced by staying at this hotel. The hotel is located very close to Utrecht Central Station and the markets were on right outside the hotel door (Friday & Saturday). The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful with any query we had. This hotel caters well to the average overnight business stay.

The only thing that lets this hotel down is that wifi isn't free - you have to pay if you want it in your room. Although, they do supply a sleek coffee lounge with free wifi, a coffee machine and tea facilities.
Utrecht is an amazing city and has so much to explore. We caught a train and made our way to Kasteel de Haar - so beautiful. Would definitely come back to this hotel when they get free wifi.

Room Tip: Get a room closer to Level 2 (Coffee Lounge) you may be able to get a free wifi signal.

Well situated very near the railway station, and central to Utrecht.
The reception staff greeted us with enthusiasm, booked us in efficiently, and offered us advice on any questions we had.
The bedrooms were very clean spacious and comfortable. One of the quietest hotels we have stayed in, so a good nights sleep.
Tea and coffee facilities in the bedroom were welcome. There is a lounge, with an unlimited supply of tea and very nice coffee from freshly ground beans.
The breakfast room is very pleasant with many tables overlooking the street. A very good choice of food is offered.
Check out was fast and efficient.

Room Tip: Our room faced the rear of the hotel, with no noise to disturb us.

Positive first: in the middle of Utrecht city centre. Rooms in need of refurbishing and gives a quite dark and dull impression. No free wifi in rooms but free in lobby area. After my shower the bathroom was filled with water over the floor. Ok hotel if you just want a hotel for one night near the central station but if you want to stay a couple of days in charming Utrecht take another one. Friendly staff.

This hotel is very close to the Utrecht central train station, right in the center of everything. Decent view from our room, comfortable bed. TV a little confusing. Lots of pamphlets/maps/info in room. Free Wifi from the central common area, and free coffee/espresso etc all day and night in the same spot. We were not told the breakfast was not included so it was a bit of an unpleasant surprise to get the bill for 5 breakfasts at the end of our stay. Beware!

The location and staff is great. Breakfast is also nice. I liked the fact that there is a nice communal area where you can drink free drinks from the machine and have free internet access. As I mentioned to the hotel staff, the rooms and especially bathrooms need refurbishment. There was a sewage smell coming from the bathroom. My room was facing towards to some apartments. They are very close and you could even hear the burp of the residents. And since they smoke out there, when you open your window for fresh air the smoke get into your room.

Dear Sevilayyy,

Thank you so much for your constructive feedback following your stay with us at the Apollo Hotel Utrecht City Centre. I am delighted to note that you enjoyed our service and location. Furthermore I was happy to read that the breakfast was nice and you liked our lounge. I am very sorry to read that you found our rooms and especially bathrooms outdated. I am most concerned to read that your disappointments regarding the location of your room facing some apartments that caused noise and a smell of smoke. We do recognize that a comfortable room is the most important aspect when staying in a hotel. Please accept our apologies. Enjoying our unique location is very much part of the overall experience so we will continue to work hard at offering a good service for a fair price. I very much hope that we would be able to persuade you to try our hotel again when you decide to come and stay in Utrecht on a future occasion.

Kind regards and many thanks once again for your invaluable feedback
