I Absolutely loved this place! As soon as we walked in the door of the restaurant we were greeted by the owner and his wife Ann, I think (I can't remember his name) and he made us feel so at home, like we were a part of his family. He took our luggage and fixed us some coffee and a dessert and told us to rest while he took our luggage up to the room. Once we finished with our coffee and pie he took us up stairs. The stairs are VERY small and windy, I am so thankful he carried our luggage because we could not have taken it up, but it just added to the quaintness of the place. We were in room 3 and it was perfect. The room was a good size and the window looked out on the market. We kept the curtains open and just watched people riding their bikes and coming and going every time we were in the room, it was a very busy place. The bathroom was small but it was very pretty, updated and clean. The toiletries were very nice and there was a hairdryer and plenty of towels in the wardrobe. There was a mini fridge right outside our door full of pop, and fruit, and other things and coffee, tea and water on the second landing. The location is perfect, right on the Grot market square, it is just wonderful. We took the train to Haarlem and it is a short walk from the train to L'Anders. We ate in the restaurant every meal and it was the most wonderful food, everything we ate was delicious and beautiful! I think they take the last kitchen order at 8:30pm. Everyone we met in the restaurant was very friendly and so pleasant it just made us want to keep coming back. The breakfast is served 10-12 but when we had to leave early to catch our train, they fixed us a wonderful lunch to take with us. The square was a little noisy at night, especially since we were there on the football playoffs, but we had a great time watching everyone enjoy the game on the big screen. Haarlem is a wonderful place and L'Anders was the perfect place to stay, I wish I could go back!
