“Excellent place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

We arrived with cycles which were quickly stored in the rear yard and shown to our ground floor room. It was named the French room and was very comfortable. We used the electric fan as it was hot. An added bonus was the 1960's Dansette record player which still worked. I was soon playing an old LP with Django Rheinhart and Stephan Grappelli, with tracks reminiscent of an old Tom and Jerry cartoon. We had use of the open plan kitchen and next day we had an excellent breakfast served by our golf-loving host. We were able to leave our gear in their cupboard while we explored the town.

Stayed here 3 times now. There are 3 rooms, 2 downstairs and one in the attic. All the rooms are comfortable and clean. The attic room is really great with a large bath in the middle of the room and a large shower to one side. The bed is very large and comfy. The room is airy with loads of space to relax.

Albert and Roda are great hosts. Breakfast, prepared by Albert is lovely. Bread, cheese, cereals, ham, boiled eggs, tea, coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice.

The location is excellent on Ridderstraat. It's five minutes from both the bus and railway stations and 5 minutes from the centre.

Can't wait to go again.

Room Tip: If you are ok with stairs, the attic room is fab.

The Mya is well located on a quiet street minutes from restaurants, shopping and museums. The ground floor bedrooms and kitchen are recently remodeled and are very modern. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable about the various attractions.

We stayed in the Savanne, a nicely decorated room. The bed was comfortable and as noted was two twins pushed together, fine with us. It is a small room but has plenty of space for a short visit. There is no closet or wardrobe, just hooks on the back of the door.

The en suite bathroom is large and actually has counter room around the sink for toiletry kits, along with a large drawer to stow kits away during the day.

This is a great little B&B for a short get-away.

The owners were very easy going and helpful. Clean, perfect location, and breakfast with great quality. Lots of good restaurants nearby in Haarlem. Recommend it. 15 minutes by train to Amsterdam and also a beach nearby.

We spent 3 nights at this very convenient bed and breakfast in mid-June. It's just a short walk from the Haarlem Central train station and then another short walk to the Grote Market area.

The room was large for the Netherlands, with a nice bathroom, separated from the other room by a sliding partition. Although it was on the front of the house, it was very quiet because the street is quite narrow with very little vehicular traffic. A plus was free wi-fi and the very gracious hosts!

Room Tip: If you have any mobility issues, be sure to request one of the two rooms on the main floor, because...

Very nice place to stay, modern and clean. Mya is near the center and it's easy to walk to restaurants, museums and just stroll through this very nice city. The rooms are well decorated and the hosts are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Good coffee and fresh squeezed o.j. were much appreciated.

Room Tip: Ground floor in the front.

This Bed and Breakfast is placed in an excellent location: You can walk in 5 min to the historic market place with lots of bars and restaurants around. The Bed and Breakfast itself is located in a quiet side street. The owner is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good (good bread, ham and authentic regional cheese; the owner even presses you fresh orange juice!), our room and bathroom were very clean. The rooms interior is better than the average Bed and Breakfast and arranged with love.
Only minus: our room had poor sound insulation. You can hear everything what happens in front of your door (other guests coming home, having breakfast...), so you might wake up.
