“A gem in Haarlem! Perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

What can I say. This B&B is just perfect. It is everything you would want from a B&B: clean, quiet, nice rooms, a really comfortable bed, the nicest owners I have ever met, great breakfast with fresh orange juice and really good coffee (for a finnish person this is a must!). Me and my husband absolutely loved our stay here over the New Years!

I do recommend this to people also going to Amsterdam, if you would prefer something really near, but more quiet and personal. The train ride is only 15 minutes, and the B&B is a 10 minute walk away from the train station.

My highest compliments and recommendations for this B&B.
The only thing I want to say, is that the stairs are really steep, as they usually are everywhere in the Netherlands, so if you have trouble with stairs, keep this in mind.

This was our second visit to Malts Hotel having stayed there last year. I cannot understand why they only have an overall trip advisor rating of 4/5! Hosts Henk and Anne Marie extended their warm welcome to us once more and it felt like we were returning to visit family friends. The rooms are, as ever, spotlessly clean and the breakfast excellent. The freshly squeezed orange juice is an exceptionally nice touch, and being able to make a fresh cup of tea or coffee at any time of the day or evening is a bonus. Henk pointed us in the direction of a new bar (30 different draft beers!) which livened up the weekend! This is the best B & B Hotel we have stayed in, period!±We have already booked again for 2016! Thank you Henk and Anne Marie!

April 10, 2015 Arrived in Netherlands and spent first four days at B & B Malts in Haarlem. Welcomed by friendly and helpful hosts. Location was excellent and hotel exceeded expectations. Interior was modern, clean and comfortable. Enjoyed our breakfast every morning...delicious fresh squeezed orange juice, croissants, cheeses and yogurt. Would definitely stay again and would recommend highly.

Room Tip: Larger twin room was perfect. Best bathroom we found in Netherlands.

We had a wonderful two night stay at the B&B Malts. Henk and Annemarie were wonderful hosts, serving up wonderful breakfasts and many smiles. The rooms are small but charming and well kept. Nothing else to say except that we loved our time here!

Yes, they are steep up to the second floor entry. but Henk or Annemarie will carry that 50-pound suitcase for you, then offer you a comfy room, at a fair price, at a quiet location, with a comfy bed. All renovated in 2014.
We would go back!

Close to Old Town, good local restaurants nearby, easy to walk where you probably want to go, but a block from the bus line too.

We stayed in the Terrace room and it was just big enough, with a nice little balcony area.

We spent two nights at the Malts Hotel and found it very convenient to the center of the historic district. Just a short walk to the Corrie ten Boom house and the Grote Markt. It was a great place to stay to attend the Keukenhof. (Less than a ten minute walk to catch the bus.) The staff was very helpful in telling us all about the area. They also kept our luggage for several hours for us until we could check in, as we arrived early. Our room was small, but comfortable and clean. It was also very quiet. The bed was comfortable as well. The breakfast room was open all the time as a gathering place. We met several other guests there in the evening and received tips about the area. The owners offered to make us a "take away" breakfast since we would be leaving before it was served. The juice and sandwiches were appreciated. We would definitely stay at the Malts Hotel
again! Haarlem is a wonderful small town...not too touristy.

What a surprise behind a plain, ordinary door. A steep climb to a lovely B&B hotel that is beautifully decorated. We had two rooms, one with a gigantic terrace(#3) and one smaller room on the third floor (#15). There's a sunny breakfast room that is low lit all night for those wishing to have a drink (honesty bar) and a constant flow of Bach on the boom box. There's always a basket of free fruit. The air shaft is painted with a colorful and interesting mural - just one of the details covered by this lovely hotel. The shower is big but the bathroom is tiny with no place to put a makeup bag. Wonderful hosts, Anne Marie and Henk greet their guests every morning with fresh juice, coffee and solid breakfast choices. Located two blocks from the center square and cathedral. Will definitely stay here again if we visit Haarlem.

Room Tip: Room 3 includes a lovely, large terrace.
