“Very nice restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

The food was very nice (especially dessert!) and the staff were welcoming and friendly. One thing I would say though is that it is pretty formal and a lot of the menu items reflect this - the starters in particular were things which I wouldn't normally choose (think sweetbreads, oxtail, carpaccio, etc.). It was very tasty but I wouldn't recommend going if you are a picky eater or vegetarian as you may have a hard time finding something you'd like!
However, the service and food were both excellent, if a little expensive, and the decor, garden and location were beautiful.

“Good Food, Attentive Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2012

The food here was good, and the chocolate dessert excellent, although the portions weren't particularly large, given the price.

The restaurant itself had a lovely atmosphere, and we weren't frowned upon for being two English-speaking students, which we'd worried might happen! It was quite formal, as would be expected of a prestigious restaurant with such accolades.

The waitress was very attentive and, whilst they, like some other restaurants, 'confiscate' the bottle of wine so that you can't pour it yourself, one's glass never found itself empty!

We got a lovely view of the garden from our window, which really cemented the peaceful atmosphere the restaurant provided.

“2 fourchettes Michelin?? unbelievable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2011

I cannot believe Michelin giving 2 fourchettes for such a restaurant.
We were there for lunch but the waitress was more busy cleaning glasses and unpacking bottles of wine than serving us.
When we left we had to pick up our own coats and umbrella.
Food nothing special to write home about.

“rather overpriced, small portions....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2011

Yes. It is a beautiful restaurant. Yes it is clean and the food is good. What I dislike about this sort of restaurant is that they think you loose your head over their food. I am afraid that didn't happen. I found the way they presented their plates pretentious, and back home thinking about the prices I was very happy that I wasn't the one who paid.
